Hello Captain Obvious
Such a ridiculously basic book. You'd have to have your head under a rock not to know the info. The funniest is that she spends half the book suggesting articles to read...to ACTUALLY learn something on the subject. The type is so big and so many pages barely have a couple of sentences that this could have been a pamphlet...but then you couldn't really charge for it. Lol!

Not helpful
I felt like it gave standard suggestions but not any real way to implement them. Having a picky child makes finding foods they like hard and I thought this book would give me more ways or trying to incorporate or hide foods within others.

Great tips to get your kids to eat healthy food!
This is really such a great book that is easy to digest (sorry for the bad pun). Dr. Kerek really know what she is talking about and she breaks down the practical steps in a very easy to read format. Honestly, though-- these tips aren't just for kids. Mom and Dad might just start eating more healthy too!

A definite recommend - from a mom of four, including one very picky eater!
I write a food blog all about healthy food for kids and families (whatlisacooks.com), and I get questions all the time about how to deal with a picky kid. This book is an excellent resource! She breaks things down into really simple pieces and presents it to you in a way that is very easy to understand. It's quick and easy to read with lots of really common sense tips. It can be so hard to see the light when you are super stressed about feeding a picky child, and this book helps you feel like it's going to be possible to get through this. I love that she breaks the ideas down with lots of simple bullet points and at the end of each chapter she gives you a quick summary of key points and she gives you more resources for further reading, and tells you about the actual studies that back up the points she is making. And I LOVE that it's written by a real mom of four kids, who is also a pediatric doctor - so she knows what she's talking about.

1 best seller. Although it is written primarily for healthy ...
I believe that this book deserves to be a No.1 best seller. Although it is written primarily for healthy eating children, I personally gleaned information that I hadn't discovered in my research on Healthy eating. In this book the subject of Healthy Eating is extensively covered. This book is informative and comprehensive. As we all have an inner child within us, I felt that grown ups as well as children could benefit from learning this way of eating. This book covers all aspects of nutrition. It offers a free video course and comes complete with an offer of an ebook containing over 70 "Family Favourite Healthy Meals," which I intend to dip into. The personal narrative and introduction is pacy and relevant.Areas of Healthy Eating are systematically and well covered, with short and long term problems of a bad diet are contrasted with the why's and the benefits of a good diet. One point that I had never considered was the fact that children, and I believe grown ups as well, have to be trained to enjoy healthy eating. The book is excellently written, interestingly compiled. Each section comes with additional reading. It puts healthy foods into groups, and breaks down all aspects of what a Healthy Diet is. It's a good read to have on hand when preparing Healthy Eating.

Quick reference guide to introducing a balanced diet for young families
This is a great introduction into nutrition for families, children and adults alike. It's very well-constructed to make an easy-to-read reference book, with helpful summaries at the end of each section, with useful links for further reading if you'd like to follow up on any particular area. I particularly enjoyed the personal anecdotes from the author on her experiences with her own children. I felt pleased to note that we follow many of the recommendations in the book, sadly our children aren't always on message, but we try to get around that in other creative ways. This would be a lovely reference material for those starting new families who want to make sure they give their children the best start towards a healthy outlook for life.

Perfect Guide for Frustrated Parents of Picky Eaters!
Dr. Orlena really hit home with her suggestions for picky eaters. The book made me rethink the way I talk about food and how I use it to reward my children. One of the things that she talked about that really stuck with me was that having the right attitude toward food is the most important thing and she explains what kind of attitude that is in the book. There was a thorough introduction to toddler health in the beginning of the book where I was surprised to learn the amount of food that children really need. I definitely recommend this book to all parents, even if you don't have a picky toddler, because it will change how you approach meal time in a positive way.

So encouraging and helpful!
Easy to read and packed full of brilliant tips. Loads of evidence-based recommendations too, so perfect for deciding on your own approach and what will work for you, apples are the way forward in my house! Loved the menu suggestions too for trying to include more veg, and reassuring to know we are on the right path. It's good to hear we are not alone in always trying to feed the little monkey more, for fear of him being hungry, will definitely try and relax a bit and let him decide from now on!

This book was easy to understand and follow, it made me think about more than just what I feed my children, but how attitudes to food can affect them. It gave me lots of ideas, very helpful.
