Ikea 500.291.62 Alang Nickel Plated Table Lamp, White

I was looking for a lamp that was tall enough for my bedside table, and this one, adjustable up to 32 inches high, fits the bill. It emits a nice white light that is bright enough to read by. The shade wobbled around a bit until I realized that I had to unscrew the plastic O-ring around the light bulb, insert the lampshade frame over the bulb socket and THEN screw the ring back on. I guess it helps to read the instructions occasionally! Haha.CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS BEWARE:The Ikea website shows that this lamp is out of stock/unavailable online for California residents, but be sure to check your Ikea stores before ordering from Amazon. Unfortunately, I found the same one for $19.99 there after ordering one from here. Even with return shipping costs, I still come out ahead.

There's nothing really to complain about aside from the fact that the shade yellows considerably over time and replacement shades are not available from Ikea. We have three Alang lamps, purchased about a year apart, and each is noticeably more yellow than the others. If you are planning to purchase more than one, make sure to get them all at the same time so that the shades darken uniformly.

I love the lamp but the shade came a little damaged. The border is unglued from the that work of the shade and im not sure if it happened during transit or was just sent that way. Im definitely keeping it but I was dissapointed that I have to bust out the superglue on a brand new purchase.

Great lamp, in Ikea fashion. Goes well with minimalistic decor. I have it as a side lamp in a guest bedroom and my guests love it.

Jelly. Everyone in my office is like totally jelly of my awesome lamp. They oooh and ahhh, and I laugh and laugh. It is beauteous. The height can be adjusted. The shade is like hella cool. HELLA! All woven and stuff. Get this lamp and you will be the talk of the town.

These added the perfect touch to my room. I bought the suggested light bulbs and the light provided is perfect. I have two, one on each side of my bed. Exactly what I was looking for. A little different, with a style, but simple.

This really isn't very high quality but it's cheap and does the trick. Got it for an office.

I bought those for my bedroom and I liked them even more when they arrived! They are really chic and modern at the same time! Love them!
