買って後悔。日本では使えない。
本体ネジがアメリカ規格のNHネジであり、日本規格のPTネジではない為市販のホース継手が全く使えません。ちゃんと調べて買えばよかったと後悔しています。

Fantastic "Guesstimate" water meter
This water meter is pretty much what you would think it would be: a meter that measures water. As shown in the 4 pictures above, the meter measures 4 different things including the current number of gallons of that "session" (the meter turns off after a certain amount of time and resets this number), the water flow rate in "Gallons per minute", the average "Gallons per day", and the total amount of gallons since the meter was reset. To reset the meter, you hold down the yellow button until the measurement resets to 0 on whatever screen you want to reset. Overall, the accuracy of the meter is typically around 10% more than the stated amount which isn't too bad considering the amount of water going through it and the simplistic mechanism. I measured this with measuring cups and this is about how much off it was. Your results may vary. This can always be worked around by subtracting 10% of the measurement such as only going to 0.9 gallons to have 1 full gallon. The leakage problem many have mentioned in other reviews can happen so you must tighten both ends as much as possible without breaking it, especially the end before the measuring mechanism. All in all, this is a great "Guesstimate" meter to find out a general idea of how much water you are using. Wouldn't recommend if you need an "exact" and accurate amount of water beyond the "1 gallon" digit.

RAINPOINT Water Meter
This summer was an exceptionally dry summer with no measurable rain since April. Consequently, I started watering my lawn. While doing so I became curious as to just how much water I was using particularly in light of the fact we are on a well. So, I decided to purchase the Rainport Water Meter. One thing I can say is that it is very simple to use. One button for everything from changing Gal to Liters and toggling through the various setting such as flow rate, gallons used etc. I like these two setting the most: Gallons per watering session and cumulative total for several days of watering. I did give it the bucket test as well by filling a one-gallon milk jug several times and found that the unit was off by approximately one tenth of a gallon a couple of times. But then again, that’s what the product description says. A note of interest: if your hose has air in it and you have the flow meter on the output end of the hose, it will measure the air as gallons of water. As a mater of fact, if you blow through it, it will begin registering a flow. Unit also has an auto off feature to conserve the battery (one CR2032). And the quick disconnects are an added feature allowing you to be able to remove the meter and reconnect the hose with out the usual twist and twist routine. Needless to say, it meets my water usage curiosity expectations so it’s a keeper.

Simple and affordable meter
I bought this meter to assist in design of water system at group of cabins; have not had chance to put to use in that application as yet. However did try it out on our house hose bibb. It froze, stopped reading. Was able to clear it by blowing compressed air from opposite direction of flow. So I cannot attest to its reliability or longevity at this early stage. Not sure why they put the double detachable fittings on either side of meter but maybe it could be useful in some applications The meter appears readable and nice it offers GPM and LPM. To conclude this device is simple and affordable and I look forward to it helping with design of our water system
