ENVEL USB to 3.5mm Audio Adapter, External Stereo Sound Card

This is just what I needed to add a microphone input to my Pi5 for my SDR. I tested this on Windows 11, Raspberry Pi5 and Linux Mint. It works great for what I need it for, just plug it in and it's ready to set up and use. The audio in and out sounds much better if you run it through a sound eq. No complaints here for the price.

My laptop's sound has been bad for a while - crackling, popping, fuzzy, just awful in general. I searched online for solutions and the consensus seemed to be that it's just something that's difficult to fix. Then I found this audio adapter and I can't say enough good things about it. I plugged it into my laptop, plugged my headphones into the adapter, and the sound is clear as a bell. The only thing I regret is that I must use headphones, can't share the clear sound with others. But I am so happy with this product!

It works. For the most part it does so flawlessly. Immediately recognized and self set up ready to go in Windows 11. It has the tendency to become overwhelmed at the slightest strong audio "spike" resulting in the Mic side feeding into the Speaker side and vice verse requiring a reboot of the entire computer to "reset" it. My use is primarily for voice audio recording and obviously that varies dramatically in an exponential amount of ways resulting the the occasional "spike" mentioned. It doesn't happen continuously but it is very annoying when it does. Especially when it happens when the computer is unattended and you are not aware it has until you return to the computer. In defense of the product, it is a very inexpensive external sound device and not a high end commercial external sound device. That being said, it works well for general things and has its limits and the purchase price reflects that. Keeping that in mind you can decide if this is a device that will meet your needs at the price point it is offered at and work for you or not.

Move aside crappy old adapters (from other Amazon Seller)! Make room for this new ENVEL USB sound adapter bc it WORKS. Wish I purchased this sooner. Worked as soon as I plugged it into my Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop. About 2 years ago when my laptop 3.5mm headphone audio jack became loose from frequent plugging & unplugging of wired earphones— I purchased a 2-pack USB Sound Card Adapter from Amazon from a different seller. Those adapters never worked consistently. I thought it was my laptop USB ports / USB Adapter drivers / missing firmware updates that were causing the USB Sound Card Adapters to not work. Recently, the other adapters stopped working completely, presenting heavy static noise whenever plugged in. So, plugged this new ENVEL adapter & it works like a charm! =) This adapter arrived 2 days ago & since, I have been using them for several hours daily, with zero issues & the audio/sound quality is fantastic. I haven't tested adapter's microphone jack yet, so I can't leave a review about that. Will come back & revise this review once I have tried out the mic jack, as well.

To be honest, I don't know what the sound quality is. It sounds fine. I'm using it to connect a computer to my audio receiver so I can get sound out of it for youtube and whatever. My PC has an audio out jack on it, but it has a reoccuring faint beep in the background that sounds almost like a bad ground somewhere. I don't recall hearing it when I had the PC as my office computer, but I always used bluetooth headphones with it. So, I thought I'd try this to bypass the onboard sound card. It didn't help. Still beeps/buzzes quietly in the background. So I can't fault the device really. I did notice that I had to turn the volume up higher to hear it than the onboard card, not sure why that is.

GREAT PRODUCT

Windows 10 plug and play audio USB dongle - works as advertised. Audio plug died on motherboard, this thing is the cheapest solution. Its doubly great in that you can unplug the mic or swap from the old speakers to new headphones without having to fish for the plug at the back of the tower. Sound quality is perfect. No buzzing, humming, etc, unlike the now-dead onboard sound chip on the mobo.

ممتاز جداً حطيت عليه سماعتي الريرز ولو جوده الصوت بتصير سيئة كان لاحظت لكن جربت وجوده الصور جداً ممتازه ونقية نفس الشي المايك صوتي نقي جداً وصافي مو متكهرب او فيه صدى او من ذي المشاكل الي ناوي يشتري القطعه يشتريها بدون مايفكر جوده عاليه وتستاهل

オンボードのオーデイオが壊れたので、当機を買いました。USBに挿すだけで一発で認識し問題なく使用出来てます、昔はオーデイオが壊れると増設のオーデイオカードを使用してましたが、いや～便利になりました。ありがたやありがたや！！！。
