Q: Will this work to reoxidize just the grooves in my sterling silver place settings (Wallace Spanish Lace)?

As a goldsmith I can advise you that no blackening product will stay in the groves, even if you were able to apply it to just the groves... it will bleed. You would have to be able to use steel wool or some abrasive to remove it off all but the groves and then re-polish and buff your silver. If your silverware is not solid silver but rather silver plate it will scratch past the plating to clean it up.

It works well on sterling silver, copper, and nickel alloy (German Silver). I favor it over Liver of Sulphur.

It says it is for silver, gold, copper, bronze. It works on gold because 14 Karat has 50% silver and other metals in it. Dilute it first and have rinse water handy to stop the blacken process as soon as you get the color you want. This will burn your skin with prolonged exposure. Use plastic or glass containers to darken metal in.
