1U Server Rack Depth Extender - 4-Inch/10 cm Deep

Network rack too short for my switches, the picture is a spare switch I had to test fit it before installing the rest of the gear. The jingchenthingy works pretty good, it was pretty straight forward to install albeit was a head scratcher the first minute after opening the box and looking at it. Holds firm on the switch, I'd recommend this to others if they have a short depth rack but need a device or two to extend out.

Fantastic bracket. This can also be used on the backside of the fail to move forward items like PDUs which is what I used it for. This made it so the PDU wasn't sticking out the back of the rack. Looks way better and is more space efficient.

I bought these over the StarTech ones due to price. They came quickly and required a small bit of filing on the square holes to let the square pegs of Dell ready rails fit in and for the latch to fully catch. Supports a 1U Dell just fine in a 4 post rack. Should work for you, but mind your clearances and access to latches/tabs/etc.

I made the mistake of not measuring and found a server I had bought came with rails that were a couple inches short for my rack. Rather than buy new rails (which would have to be non-oem to get the depth I needed) I found these gems. Although it is advertised as a rack extender, you can mount them on the inside instead and now they are a "rail extender" or "rack reducer". These were the perfect solution to get 29" rails to fit in my 32" rack. They are very sturdy and were just as easy to install for decreasing a rack's depth as they are intended to extend a rack depth.

I purchased the 1U version of this bracket a while back and it worked very well. I use Rack Studs to mount most of my smaller equipment and they worked well with this bracket. I recently purchased the 2U version to replace the 1U bracket but found that the square holes have been reduced in size so the Rack Studs do not fit. Maybe they source the brackets from different manufactures so be aware that if you like Rack Studs you should probably try another bracket.

I have an EMC SAE 24x2.5" JBOD enclosure that I needed to rackmount. I wanted something more stable than just the ears on the front of the enclosure. This extended the length of the rackmount "rails" that are made for this enclosure just enough for me to add it to my rack that contains full size dell servers. It's maybe 10% janky for the use case but it holds the rail up with enough support to work.

The mounting plate is too wide, so whether you're putting these in first, then the device OR just attaching these to the device then installing into the rack, the width will not make it possible. I have seen some reviews that said they could get it to a workable state by loosely screwing in the components, forcing them to fit, then finally tightening but you should not have to do this.

This product was incredibly useful for installing a Panduit 1U fiber enclosure in an existing rack. The customer didn’t want the enclosure protruding from the front as much, so we used these extenders to reverse-mount the enclosure deeper into the rack. The result was clean and exactly what the customer wanted. Simple, effective, and highly recommended!

It was a quarter of the price to buy a small rack, so I did that. When it came to installing my server i knew I would need some extra horizontal depth (the smallest the dell mounts go to is 53cm). These made up the difference and work great.

Je l'ai utilisé pour reculer ma PDU car ce que je branchais dessus buttait contre la porte de ma baie. Reculé de 10 cm je peux maintenant la fermer. Pas de soucis particulier à l'installation. Seul reproche c'est la peinture qui n'est elle pas impeccable avec un petit endroit ou il en manque sur chacune des deux extensions (mais non visible une fois monté)
