Another great idea that didn't work for me
I'm not sure if it was the relatively cheap build quality or just a defective component, but the Optical Audio Splitter LiNKFOR 1x4 SPDIF Toslink Optical Splitter didn't work for me. As in no audio whatsoever, even though fully powered and correctly connected. I disconnected and reconnected it several times to no avail. However, when I reconnected the devices to the stereo without the Optical Splitter, they worked fine. On the plus side, the Optical Cable (that came with the kit) also worked fine when not connected to the Optical Splitter. Your results may be different, but it didn't work for me.
