I'm not a boot person. These have a retro kick that I love. Plus the armored heel, toe, and padded ankles are sturdy and protective.

**UPDATE** While definitely comfortable, they did not last one riding season. After a few months of both commuting and distance riding, one shoe began to tear around the shoestring eyelets and then quickly tore the length of four eyelets. I normally hope to get 3-4 years out of a riding shoe/boot, but these failed within 9 months and it’s not like I was hiking trails in them. I was literally just wearing them to ride my motorcycle. Pretty disappointing overall. See below for my initial review.Initial Review: My old BMW riding boots finally saw their last days, so I sought something to replace them that was more comfortable for walking and still offered protection while riding on the street.I found these shoes exceptionally comfortable for walking around. As well, the overall construction seems very good. The soles are decently stiff to prevent a twisting or horizontal flex injury in the foot, but not overly stiff so that they are uncomfortable to walk in. As well, the ankles are reasonably stiff and provide good padding for ankle protection for crash protection. I certainly wouldn’t go racing with them, but I think they are fine for day riding and touring. They offer better protection than my Doc Martens 1460 boots.The only real complaints I have are that they don’t breathe all that well in hot weather and that the stiffness of the ankles and soles means you have to unlace them quite a ways to put your foot in. Overall, I think they work great and I’m hoping they will last a few seasons.

4 months of light use and they are already starting to literally come apart on my feet.......... Unacceptable especially for the price

Used these for one season and the toe wore clean through from shifting. Also the red dye gets all over everything
