I’ve never needed help getting my contacts out, but getting them in used to be a nightmare. It would take me 30 minutes to an hour to get them to transfer off my finger and into my eye even after reading every tip and trick out there. Now I get them in on the first try with this thing. I owe it my sanity, honestly.

The Opti-Wand contact lens installer/remover did not work for me. I have no trouble inserting my Dailies 1 soft contacts by Alcon manually. However, these lens have such a perfect curvature to match my cornea that it’s very difficult to break the seal necessary to get them out. The snazzy video and (some positive) Amazon comments led me to order this product. After giving them a good workout and trying to get the necessary technic down I must conclude they won't pinch as described.I use the small end of the Wand with the cut-outs as instructed. The idea is not to use the Wand as a suction cup. Rather it is intended to slightly pinch the lens so that air can get between the lens and the cornea allowing one to lift to be lifted out and away from the eye. Sounds good in theory. The problem with this is that they do not grip the lens allowing one to pinch; they simply slide across the lens. As a test I placed one contact on the tip of my index finger using it to mimic my cornea. But again, they only slide and do not pinch the lens as required. I have tried this with the lens slightly wet with storing solution and with the lens dry. Nothing works. I’ve tried the Wand with other brands of soft lens. They were ineffective here as well. Perhaps others have had more luck. But not me. Quite expensive for something like this even if it did work. I can’t recommend this product.

After many years I feel like I'm a professional hard contact lens wearer but unfortunately was switched to a soft contact in one eye after scratching my cornea. I can pop those hard contacts out with ease (but they also make the handy dandy plunger to plunge it right out just incase)On to the soft contact situation... I had no problem inserting it but getting it out was impossible for me. I have nails so pinching it out with my finger tips wasn't an option. After watching way to many how to YouTube videos and trying over and over, I gave up. I cried hoping I could cry it out but no, that soft contact just stayed in there. No matter how many times I slid it to the side and tried to pinch it out I was unsuccessful. I thought it would have to live there for life. After trying for what seemed like forever, I begged my unwilling daughter to please just touch my eyeball and she helped me get it out. After all that chaos, I googled and was led to this contraption. I'll try anything to not waste my life away trying to get my contact out every night. I ordered it and waited before attempting to wear a soft contact again. Once it came, it was time to test it out removing the contact. I used the silicone contraption to slide the contact to the side then pinched the ends together and after trying twice... out came the contact!! So simple! No chaos. No frustration. No wasted night. No crying. Success!!! I can definitely recommend this and am very relieved this exists!

Does it work sure, is it hard to slide the device between the contact lens a little bit. You guys are really helped me learn how to take out my contacts is sliding the contact from my IRiS to the outside of my eyeball, once you do that all you do is look the opp direction and pinch!!!You don't have to stare into your own eyeballs and go for it like they teach you in the videos, That was extremely hard for me to do it's unnatural

Listen, as someone with around 13 years of experience putting in and taking our contacts, I can say that this probably isn’t a product for first time users. HOWEVER, in all those years I have never figured out how to take contacts out when I have false nails on. I have tried the swipe method, pinching with my knuckles, using two hands to pinch. All of it. Nothing worked. This tool is VERY helpful with that. The technique is a little tricky to manage, but ultimately if you have the science of taking contacts in and out down, then this is very helpful and easy to use. It is very small, too, so easy to travel with and will fit in almost any bag.

Does NOT work for removal, only insertion. More below…I tried pinching the lenses off using both ends, following the instructions. The end result is just pinching, prodding and scratching at your eye until you’re convinced you’ve just seriously messed up your eyeball. Practicing on your finger, like they tell you to, does absolutely nothing. It’s totally different than having a lense on your eye. I even tried to scoop it out with the “slits” on the one end, as another reviewer tried to in their video. No luck. Still struggling to remove my dailies which adhere to my eye so well that they don’t want to come off.I will say this product is great for inserting. Just pick whichever end you want to use, hold your eye open and place it onto your eye as instructed. Normally I fight with my dailies sticking to my finger, turning inside out, sliding off of my finger, etc. This thing makes it SO much easier.However, you can find other tools in this shape and way cheaper than this one. Not that ~$10 breaks the bank. It’s just ridiculous for what the product is.

I really needed something to help remove my contacts when I have nails on. This product is NOT it. It's a total waste of money, and not returnable. It does nothing. Learn from my mistake and do not buy!!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this thing is incredible. I was about to give up completely on wearing contacts until I got this. I have a very very strong blink reflex and it would sometimes take me 15-20 minutes to get my contacts out. This has changed that completely. Thank you! I’m so happy with this product.
