Good Value, Sturdily Built
For over twenty five years we had a metal 40 pound spreader we bought from a John Deere dealer. When its spreader shaft rusted out, we bought a Scotts Edge guard. The Edge Guard lasted for four seasons before the plastic drive gear on the drive wheel stripped off. We have used the Earthway 2600 two times and found it can make very large spreader openings if needed. Very few jams with pelletized lime which may contain lime rocks and goo balls. Instructions are OK. Be sure to check that the cotter pin axel holes are in the correct positions before you fasten the wheels on.

Quality Spreader; Assembly Instructions are Horribel
Great high quality broadcast spreader but the enclosed printed assembly instructions are horrible and illegible. The YouTube assembly instructions are excellent.

Feels like a solid spreader but assembly and parts were an issue
So minor issues but still outside what was expected. The assembly had parts that were preassembled that deviated from the instructions. It was mainly the handle assembly that was already put together and the instructions didn't show that. It didn't appear someone else bought then returned this unit as everything was packed like it came from the factory and the parts bags were sealed. The parts bag was missing a large cotter pin which held on one of the wheels. Instead they gave me 2 small cotter pins (assembly requires 1 of each). So a trip to Lowes and $1 later I got what should have been in the parts bag to begin with. Ran 4 products through it yesterday and it appears to be doing a great job spreading the material. It's easy to use and it travels over my lawn much better than the scotts spreader i was replacing with this. I saw a bunch of reviews talking about the height of the handles, I'm 5'11" and had no issues with the handle placement. If anything it was better than the scotts spreader I had been using. Overall an upgrade and a solid buy but it is expensive and for the money they were asking I would have expected all the parts to be there so I have to ding them for a star.

Don't buy the Earthway - Waste of Money
We just dissembled it, put it in the trash and bought a highly recommended Scotts, which WORKS for half the price! I bought this after a lot of comparing, because I thought it was a good quality - sturdy with rubber tires instead of plastic. And it is! But it doesn't spread the seed fungicide or whatever else! We ended up with a lot left over. We tried it on the blacktop road and could see few seeds. We called the company because the edge guard doesn't work either. There is a lever you slide on the bottom right. But when you do, it blocks two of the three holes that dispense the product! So the third hole is still functional and since it spins, would spin seed in the flower beds! but a minimum amount on the lawn (for over-seeding). It was in brand new condition, but in conscience, I couldn't sell to another victim. My advice: Don't buy it. The Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader for $77.00 works great and is sturdy.

A Game-Changer for Lawn Care—Highly Recommended!
After years of using a Scott’s spreader, I decided it was time for an upgrade, and after plenty of research, I settled on the Earthway Broadcast Spreader. Assembly was easier than expected, especially with the help of a YouTube video, and the quality of the product is outstanding. This spreader is a massive step up from the cheaper options you find at big box stores. The consistency and evenness of the spread are remarkable—no more streaks in my lawn! The tires are another fantastic feature, as they make it easy to traverse my entire yard, even over uneven terrain. This spreader has truly elevated my yard care routine, delivering excellent results every time. It’s a great buy and worth every penny!

Verify you received all the parts before you start.
I was missing one of my handles which is what it is. But after several emails to support with no response I finally received it. Besides that must say the instructions sucked. They told me to what’s watch the video but the video for my model would not run. I do like the spreader. The price is a little high.

Meh, you should probably should pass on this one.
I wanted to like this so badly, but for the money I'm not sure I can recommend it. First of all, the instructions are abysmal. There are YouTube videos out there showing how to assemble it (thankfully), so if you buy one of these, make sure you have WIFI. Why they couldn't just include a simple exploded view of the whole assembly is beyond me. Instead it's a mish-mash of not to scale crayon drawings and terrible overly conversational wording.Once assembled, the only thing I can say is that its' just NOT solid in the broadest translation of that term. It's clear that there was no real value placed on fabrication tolerances. Parts are (not an exaggeration), +/- .5". I don't "think" it's going to fall apart, but load this thing up with 30lbs of fertilizer and you're certainly going to put your faith to the test.As a bonus on mine the armature that actuates the opening/closing the gate wouldn't close all the way out of the box, so fertilizer/grass seed Was constantly getting dumped. Not to worry though as I was able to bend it back into position with two fingers.Really could have been a great product and lived up to the hype with about $8.00 more material and labor. *shrug*

Better than expected
This spreader is better than I hoped. The air filled tires make for a very smooth lawn application. The spread pattern of material is much more consistent than my last spreader. The throw pattern of material is larger as well. It's very easy to clean. I couldn't be happier with its performance and my yard shows it. No springs to malfunction or fertilizer doors not closing all the way. This operates with solid closing rods to the door. It's closed when it's closed. It has a very accurate application regulator for settings. In sum, it's professional grade equipment for residential use at a fair price. In reviews there were sone complaints in assembly, I found it relatively easy to assemble, just take your time and use common senses. It took me 30 minutes to assemble.
