Diamine Shimmering Golden Sands Ink 50 ml

This ink can be used as a highlighter or as a regular everyday riding ink. If you use a thicker knob, it almost looks like a brown. It drys very fast, so left-hand writer should be OK. It is loaded with shimmer so you will see it at all times. Surprisingly my extra fine nibs don’t clog, but the shimmer doesn’t come through as much but you can kinda still see a little bit so I would probably say the shimmer does not compromise the flow or the color.

The Golden Sands ink deposits a generous amount of shimmering particles in the penstroke. The base ink shades from yellow to brown. I also got Purple Pazzazz around the same time, and Golden Sands has way more shimmering! I use this ink in a fude nib pen with a converter. Thin and thick lines alike have even shimmering. Few times the pen has ran out of shimmer particles with about 1/4 of the ink still remain. I draw in more fresh ink and righ back to writing. The standard shimmering advices apply here: shake the bottle well before filling pen, roll and twirl the pen before writing, and store the pen flat.

This ink is really nice to write with. The color is a beautiful that looks great on the page without being too bold or too light. It flows smoothly in my pen and dries pretty quickly, so I don’t have to worry about smudging. The bottle is also well-designed and easy to use. Overall, it just makes writing feel a little more enjoyable.

This is a beautiful ink that really does look like swirling liquid gold when you shake the bottle. The catch is that even with a medium nib pen, the output is very dry and scratchy on higher-end coated papers (like in a Mnemosyne journal). Ironically, it works a lot better on uncoated regular papers, which is weird. This ink also needs a lot of periodic pen shaking or swirling as the micro-glitter settles out within seconds. I have not had clogging issues due to the glitter, but I tend to lightly shake the pen every minute or so. Just a few gentle back and forth moves is all you need - don't shake it hard enough to splash ink out. So it's a cool ink - perhaps ideal for a dip pen - but it is definitely finicky for a fountain pen.

Love the shimmer in this ink. It is gorgeous. so far no clogging. It does settle fast so move it around before writing.

I’ve heard folks rave about this ink, so my expectations were high. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it wasn’t as amazing as I hoped.

I feel like it's hard to get a true 'gold' ink without going a more opaque acrylic ink that isn't compatible with fountain pens. However, this one does a fine job. I love the way it dries on various papers. Just make sure you roll your fountain pen in your hand a bit before writing to re-mix the shimmer particles. Do NOT leave this ink in your pens for a long time, and never store your fountain pens nib-down when loaded with this ink or you WILL experience clogging. Be careful after this ink has dried - this one will shed some of its shimmer when touched.

True to color! Will buy more! You get what you pay for!

Esta tinta es la monda. Bueno, más en serio, la he probado y dá un color oro bastante bien conseguido. La he comparado con tinta oro AladinE para caligrafía para pluma no estilográfica y dá un tono ligeramente más intenso, y siendo como es ésta para pluma estilográfica, la encuentro muy práctica, sumamente recomendable y a muy buen precio. El dorado que dá no es liso, es más bien tipo brillantina/purpurina, pero es lo que hay con estas tintas. Tarda un tiempo en secar, pero cuando lo hace, queda estupenda. Hay que recordar agitar el tintero bien antes de cargar de tinta, y la pluma antes de escribir, para volver a poner en suspensión las partículas doradas. Eso es un poco latoso, pero merece bien la pena visto el resultado.
