Q: Is this a coarse blend? or fine dust?

Although the bags I have received of this brand of perlite is a mixture of sizes of pieces, it is mostly medium particles. But all perlite packages contain dust. I wear a particle mask when I open the bag to avoid breathing in the volcanic glass particles of which perlite is made. I also only mix it with my peat moss outside where the dust won't settle on everything in the house. Additionally I use a spray bottle of water to spray inside the bag every time I open the bag. Since perlite is highly water absorptive, spraying keeps the dust down. After mixing, I have not had problems with dust.
