VetOne Mag-60 Paste Topical Poultice (20oz.)

My vet uses this product for the sole of the hoof to draw out the infection of an abscess in the hoof. The abscess was very big with a lot of infection he squeezed out. I soaked his hoof daily for 20 minutes with a home made solution of Epsom salt, betadine and warm water. Then made a huge bandage from duct tape. Folded some paper towels for the pad, put a huge dollop of this Mag 60 Poultice on it and secured it to his hoof.I soaked his hoof and changed the bandage daily and in ten days his hoof was completely healed and he was running around like a young colt again.He is a very old horse of 32 years and has struggled with abscesses for the past couple of years. This is the first treatment that has worked for him. I’m grateful I called a new vet with new ideas who was able to help him.He has since had another sbscess but I was able to treat it myself since I’m able to buy this poultice here on Amazon.

Thanks for the fast delivery of the poultice, I was about out. This is one thing every horse owner should have on hand, with a diaper and some duct tape, you can keep a hoof bruise from getting worse. And other things, too.

More expensive than other epsom salt poultices and I didn’t see much of a difference between other brands. Overall works well but is $5-10 more expensive than the others.

Veterinary poultice was used to relieve swelling of bursa on aging horse. It works as advertised.We keep a supply on hand for use on our animal "family members.*
