Ear plugs that block out Philly sports fan!
I don't write Amazon reviews very often but these ear plugs are amazing. I realized yesterday (February 3rd,2018) that there would be chaos in my city (Philadelphia) after the Super Bowl ended no matter the outcome since in the words of SNL's Colin Jost "The Philadelphia Eagles will face the New England Patriots in this year's Super Bowl, making it the first Super Bowl where the fans have even worse brain damage then the players".So I ordered these earplugs because they had same day shipping. Now my city's team has unfortunately won and so there are crazy drunk football fans shouting and honking car horns outside the window of my apartment building. Lucky for me though these ear plugs really work and as soon as I put them I couldn't hear any of the nonsense outside my window. Thank god for these ear plugs... now if only they could prevent idiots in my apartment building from setting off the fire alarm in celebration. They are a little uncomfortable for side sleeping but I think this is because I haven't worn ear plugs in a while.

Doesn't block the sound as well as a rifle range ear muff; doesn't increase the sound-blocking effect when used in combination
When used alone, this product blocks the sound about three-quarters as well as a good, rifle range ear muff such as Mpow brand. This product does not increase the sound blocking effect when used in combination with a rifle range ear muff.In order to get the three-quarters sound blocking result, this product needs to be pushed deep and hard into the ear canal, causing some very minor injury to the ear canal. This product is inconvenient to clean after each deep-inserted use.CONCLUSION:Definitely buy a rifle range ear muff instead of these silicone ear plugs. Also, consider buying stainless steel ear plugs to use in combination with the rifle range ear muffs.I purchased stainless steel "taper pins."The #7 size and the #8 size of stainless steel taper pins fit my ears the best. The #7 1/2 size of stainless steel taper pins is not made. The optimum length of taper pin ear plugs is exactly 1.0 inches, not 1-1/4 inches.Overall, taper pin ear plugs will block the sound better than silicone ear plugs. The disadvantage of taper pin ear plugs is that they might not fit perfectly or might be slightly uncomfortable.

Musician Review
The reason I purchased these headphones was because of my involvement as a musician. That being said I can only provide a musicians perspective. The product itself came with the soundbarren ear plugs, a string attachment, and a storage capsule to keep them in after use. I personally do not use the string, but the capsule is very nice and I just stick it in my case. I play in a few bands and ensembles and as such I usually end up being placed in front of brass instruments. (The luck of a saxophonist). I play quit a few hour a week and I began to feel my head throbbing after rehearsals. As a musician your ears are very important so as such I decided to get these plugs. I was impress by how accurate the product description was. They do reduce the noise around you and the buds themselves are non irritating and fit my ears perfectly. I usually am on the standard to smaller ear person. My only reason for not a five star review is that the problem with having the plugs in is the fact that when you play its harder to hear and listen for all the parts next to you. (Not that much of that could be heard with trumpets screaming behind you, but its harder to determine your own personal volume and matching with the band, ensemble, combo group, etcetera. If there could be a filter mechanism implemented into the buds that would be great, but I guess that would also increase the price substantially. I tried one bud in and one out, but that caused confusion for me. Over all you got a great product backed by honest and caring people.

If you're buying for sleeping, consider how small they are.
I'm only writing this review because of the preponderance of positive reviews. I bought these for sleeping, and for that purpose I found them to be a total waste of money. Without the cord attached, and because it slides well into the ear canal, there was no way to grasp the short stem of the ear plug to remove it. I thought that would be an advantage when I ordered it, because I thought a longer stem would be uncomfortable. I will say this, it was comfortable while in... I just couldn't get it out, ultimately resorting to using tweezers to grasp and pull it out. Not good. Using them with the cord might be an option for some but I didn't like the idea of sleeping with a cord running from ear to ear. They might be good for an activity other than sleeping, and since that's why I bought them I'm giving them one star.

Work great!
These earplugs are fantastic! I have something called hyperacusis in my left ear. I get earaches from certain noise levels and frequencies. So I need earplugs when I'm in elevated noise level situations, like restaurants, etc. I've always hated that wearing earplugs draws attention from people, because it doesn't look normal. These new SoundBarren earplugs have short stems and are clear, so they are almost unnoticeable! I had to go to a company lunch on Friday, and felt so much less self conscious about wearing earplugs, because I didn't feel like everyone was staring at me as much. And...they worked! No earache afterward. They seemed to reduce the noise level very well. These earplugs have made a big difference! I might even buy another set soon!

I was looking for a better earplug for sleeping that could block out the sound ...
I was looking for a better earplug for sleeping that could block out the sound of snoring. Foam earplugs tend to make your ears itchy and uncomfortable if worn for a long period of time for sleeping. After doing a lot of research I settled on these. Unfortunately, the pressure of the standard-firmness earplugs was so great that I could not leave them in my ears for more than an hour before it was uncomfortable to the point of being painful. I tried the softer silicone set that was provided, but those have an EXTREMELY short stem and it was impossible to remove from my ear without using a tweezer to grab the stem. And neither plug did a better job of reducing noise than a standard, cheap foam plug.
