Beautiful bed
I received this bed yesterday despite having ordered it 3 weeks ago...it came from a separate dealer so might have been reason for delay...anyway, packaging was impressive; it came boxed in another box so I'm happy with the company for taking extra care in that regard. Putting together was a breeze (by myself). The slats don't seem super sturdy (definitely don't feel like I could sit on it w/o breaking it) but supports the mattress and my daughter just fine. The drawer is wide but not deep. Just enough room for a few blankets and extra sheets...with that said I wouldn't spend the extra $ just to have a storage drawer but I'm still happy with it for the price...I love how the oak on pine matched perfectly with the crib (my daughter and son share a room). I was hoping it would match but not to the t... very surprised and happy about that :) All in all I'm happy with the bed. Craftmanship and quality of bed is superb.

Happy with this bed
This bed came as described. The directions could have been a bit more clear, we had a little confusion when putting it together. Color is beautiful and quality seems to be there so far (we have been using it for about a month now).

Garbage Manufacturing Quality
Crap! or at least a bad one slipped by quality control. I am willing to give it another chance. My issue is that the mattress boards pre-drilled out holes are not centered disallowing the slats to properly fit into their notches making the impossible to assemble. This is the first item I am ever returning on Amazon..... I will attempt to exchange it with a another version of the same bed and see how that goes. If the replacement was manufactured correctly I will re-review the product.

Ehhh could be better.
The slats that hold the bed mattress up where numbered wrong not such a big deal but that was not the only thing wrong.. The Drawer was drilled wrong the front side use's 2 wood dowels and a screw and one of the boards only had the two dowel holes the hole for the screw was drilled on the other end of the board...

cute and small
This bed is very sturdy. It is made out of heavy wood. When putting the bed together it was difficult to align the slats on the bottom. They wouldn't match up with the holes properly. After a few hours we finally got the bed together! When it was all said and done the bed was not very big. It is just enough room for my tiny 2 1/2 yr old girl. If you want a bed that is spacious this is not the one for you. The bed is very sturdy and reliable though!

sturdy; perfect for small rooms
The shipment arrived at lighting speed, completely undamaged. The bed looks and feels safe and sturdy. A really great product, especially for the price.A lot of reviews complain about the drawers. Yes, these DIY sliding drawers can end up less than ideal. The solution: we took a rubber mallet and rammed the particle board drawer bases solidly down into the ridge where you are supposed to slide them in. It's a two person job to stabilize one side while the other slams the drawer bases in and drill screws in the pine that frames it, but once you can secure it in there evenly and make sure the whole frame is square (more mallet banging), it's perfectly solid. The drawers slide smoothly and seamlessly. The color is maybe sliiiightly lighter/more cherry than the other "espresso" furniture we were trying to coordinate with (Baby's Dream Ocean Collection), but you can hardly notice. It still matches well, and it looks just as nice as the FAR more expensive Baby's Dream furniture.

Cute toddler bed
I purchased these beds at Amazon.com.This my second Joel Pine Toddler Bed. I bought he first bed for my older son the last year when he was about 15 months old, he love it and I do too; I fall in love with this bed I just got another one for my second son he' about 15 months right now, but he was getting in and out this bed since he was a year old so I knew he was ready for his own ... This bed have very good quality, pretty design, very practical and secure for little ones,no difficult to putting together. My older son bed still look like new and there look so cute in my boys room.I'm very happy.K.J

this bed is just right...
We had a convertible crib, but when it came time to convert it, the mattress surface was just too high - 22 inches. Our little guy had to jump out. This bed is sturdy and the mattress surface is 15 inches off the floor. So, our little guy can just slide off and still keep his balance.Assembling the mattress support was a bit tricky, requiring two extra hands. I would recommend marking the position of the holes for each dowel with a sharpie -- that will help you position each of the slats. Took some trial and error before I figured that out....I saw the other comments on here about the drawer, and I have to agree that it has questionable utility -- it just isn't very deep. I decided to assemble it anyhow, and taking the comments here to heart, I used some wood glue on the joints to reduce the flimsiness. All the drawer is holding is the instructions and the little hex wrench they give you for assembly. It's perfect for that!I'm not happy at all with the Amazon delivery contractor -- "Pilot". I made an appointment with them using their system, asking for 9-12. They called at 12 and said it would be 2, called at 1:30 and said it would be 3, then called at 4 to reschedule.... Finally showed up at 5:30 in what appeared to be an airport shuttle van. Rather than making an appointment, I wish there was an option for "leave it on my porch and I'll call you if it's damaged". I would have been happy with that; that's what UPS and Fedex do.But just a minor annoyance. My son is sleeping in the bed right now, so it seems to work.
