Logitech M720 Triathalon Multi-Device Wireless Mouse, Black

There seems to be a lot of hate towards this mouse from many of the "pro" level users. People who have come from the MX master series, or are trying to replace that other mouse that was just so perfect for them. The main criticisms I've read about this mouse is that its too small, its too slow, its connection is bad, its too light, its too heavy, the scroll wheel sucks, on and on, etc. etc. Maybe I'm just a different type of user than all of those people, but all the 2-3 star reviews of this mouse made me really doubt my own purchase. I was ready to return this thing the second I ran into any of the handful of complaints I read about. So far, however, this mouse has been everything I've wanted and more!PROs:- For starters, I will say that I love the weight and size of the mouse. My hands arent abnormally large or small. I'd say they are about average (pinky to thumb spread length ~8.5 in). My previous wireless mouse was much smaller and less comfortable to hold, so going to a bigger size was really nice. For those who had a BIGGER previous mouse, going to this mouse that is smaller might be something you dont like. Make sure you know what the dimensions are before buying. The weight of this mouse makes it feel premium, but isnt something that you have to "lug" around.- Connectivity: I love having my USB ports open as often as possible, so using bluetooth is a must have. So far, I've had zero issues connecting. The second my computer is on, and the instant I flip the switch under the mouse, I'm up and running with no lag. Im sure the connection would be even better with the USB dongle, but like I said, I like to keep the ports open. I also switch between using my laptop/desktop for school and work. Using the 1-2-3 button for devices has also been seamless.- Scrolling: Idk why everyone else hates it, but I love the scrolling on this. I like using the free-scrolling where I just rol it and let it go for a second or two. But it is also really easy to just switch to traditional scrolling bit by bit.- Battery life: I've had this for well over a month now, and I turn it off at the end of every day. Obviously it claims much longer battery life, but so far I've had no issues. I also prefer mice that run on AA batteries rather than plug in ones, so that I can change it out. When the plug-in-to-charge mice finally die....theyre dead for good. A simple battery switch with this is a lot more appealing to me. I will update in time if anything changes regarding battery life.CONs/criticisms:- The one thing I will say about this mouse is that, though it can be programmed otherwise, it is mainly for right handers. I am right handed, but there are times where I want to use the mouse with my left hand while writing or doing with with my right hand. Left handed people might not like the design of the mouse catering to right handers (like so many other mice out there)- Also, gesture button can also be triggered accidentally quite often. I could just turn it off, but I do actually use it sometimes. But when Im not using it, misdirected pressure in your hand can trigger it so that can also be annoying.OVERALL: I love this mouse. It looks professional, feels good in the hand, works well, and has great programmable functionality. Know what your needs are before buying!!! DISCLAIMER: I am not a gamer by any means. But I do like to play the occasional steam game every now and then, and I failed to notice any lag difference between this and using a wired mouse. Obviously if youre hardcore or a pro gamer you might have a strong differing opinion. But for the average person, I think the latency for this mouse, both on bluetooth and USB, is 100% acceptable for daily use. 5/5 stars for me.

Just got this to replace a MS BT Sculpt Touch mouse that I've had a few years (I have liked MS mice for many years) and have been very pleased. I almost got the same mouse as the one that died but checked out the Logitechs for what BT offerings they had and took a chance on this one. It was about $18 more than what I could have got the MS one for but I think it's worth it so far.It supports the newer Bluetooth 4.0 profiles so it uses less power and pairs ultra quick, even when it goes into power saving sleep mode. The old mouse took a decent shake to wake it up, but this one wakes with just a bare movement.I'm a big fan of needing extra programmable buttons, mainly just for forward/back, and this one has plenty. There's obviously the main two, then the scroll wheel click, and two obvious side thumb buttons that are all programmable after installing the Logitech software. Install the software to access the advanced features, if you don't you might as well buy any old mouse. You can also even program the side tilts of the scroll wheel (both left AND right separately) and another semi-hidden button which is the whole side where your thumb rests. It also supports gestures if that's your thing, but it's more than I really need. You can change the scroll wheel from clicky to freewheel on the fly with a button right below the wheel if that's your bag.Accuracy seems good. Resolution seems good. tracking on a variety of surfaces seems good. It uses just one AA battery and last theoretically for 2 years. My previous mouse used 2 AA and lasted about 10 months I think. I did somewhat like the little extra heft that the 2nd battery gave the other mouse, but this one is fine and is a bit more ergonomic to hold onto as it's larger in size. Due to that larger size it is not "as portable" as my previous mouse so it takes a bit more space in your bag if you're going to be carrying it around, it's just not as slim as a more "portable" mouse model (Logitech makes those too).Build quality seems fine and the touch surfaces are decent. The back part of the top, where your palm rests, and the sides are soft-touch grippy rubberized, but the main finger rests/click surfaces are smooth hard plastic.It also has one more feature that I won't use but could be a good for certain people. it has the ability to pair between 3 devices and you can switch between them quickly on the fly with a third side thumb button (back a bit so it's out of the way enough). This is nice if your working with multiple machines at the same desk. I assume this works in tandem the keyboards they sell with this feature. There is also an additional piece of software that you can install that lets you cut and paste text, and even files, between the systems.Also, there is a standard USB receiver included, that stores in the bottom of the mouse, if you don't have proper Bluetooth connectivity in your computer. All features work the same with this, you just have to take up a USB port to use it.
