Repel Windproof Travel Umbrella with Teflon Coating (White)

I am so happy with this purchase! I've owned nice umbrellas before, but none more substantial than this Repel Easy Touch, nor as reasonably priced for this kind of quality. Couldn't be more satisfied, so I'm happily assigning 5 stars to this review, and would go even higher, if possible. You get the picture. This umbrella pops into place quickly and solidly with the simple push of a button on the handle — so, yes, you can do all this with one hand, when necessary (e.g. when getting out of your car during a downpour). Likewise, when it's fully extended, you can activate the "collapse" by pressing the same button again, which causes it to release from its fully-extended position and collapse about half-way; you complete the collapse manually, by pushing the top of the shaft downward toward the handle until it clicks shut. Piece of cake, as they say.

While I have had this umbrella for 5 years I have only used it maybe 3 times that I can remember. Arizona doesn't get a whole lot of rain and last 2 years we've been home more than ever. Today while traveling through rainy PA I opened it and it opened with such force the top literally launched off the handle. Self destructed...

This umbrella surprised me today by standing up to some strong wind! The auto-open/close feature is great and works like a charm, but the two pieces of the umbrella stem wiggle when it is open, causing me to question the longevity of this umbrella.

I was very excited to receive my umbrella today, but unfortunately, had it break within a few minutes of exposure to some moderate winds and downpour. The umbrella no longer closes or opens properly.The mechanism and build are decent, but the ribs of the umbrella are very thin and I assume the exposed, fragile components contributed to my umbrella breaking so quickly.IMPORTANT: The flyer that comes with the umbrella states that you can speak to a customer support representative on the phone number provided - when I called to do so, I only heard a prerecorded message asking me to email the company.I will update this review once I receive a response to my email.UPDATE 2017-05-26:I received an email within a few hours of writing this review, in individual responses to both my initial email to customer service and this Amazon review. It informed me that a new umbrella had been dispatched to me, and I received it today.So far, it seems to be in working condition, and time will tell how it holds up to the weather, but I respect the company for getting in touch and sending a replacement swiftly.I can completely recommend this product if they can keep up this level of customer service for the lifetime of the umbrella.

Know that if you buy this umbrella, you will receive emails almost every day asking you to review it. The umbrella itself is perfectly fine.

Cheap. The mechanism broke so now the thing opens when I don't want it to. I still use it because I spent 20 dollars on it and it generally works if I keep it strapped down, but I feel like an idiot and I wish I had bought a better umbrella.

This umbrella is sturdy, and opens and closes quickly! I like the lifetime guarantee and the fact that it comes in white. I chose white so that people can see me at night!! I just purchased a second one for a friend who lives in Taiwan--I think that she will get a lot of use out of it!

I got a white one so I can use it in summer like a parasol as well as other fall/spring rainy days. The water runs right off so you don't have to worry much about having a soggy umbrella when you get to your destination. It pops open pretty fast so be careful in opening it. Closing it is tricky at first but I got the hang of it pretty quickly -- just pay attention to what you are doing and you should be fine. It comes with a nice sleeve to keep it clean too which is nice. I very much recommend this!
