Correct fit for 2005 Mazda 3 -- but installation is tedious job
This is a high-quality, correct fit pair of cabin air filters for a 2005 Mazda 3s 5-door. If you have never done the removal and installation, please understand it is difficult and time consuming (not minutes -- it is more than one hour), and requires multiple hand tools. Most vehicles have the cabin air filter located inside or behind the glove box for an easy and often tool-free installation. Not the early Mazda 3 models. Instead, two filters are buried down at floor level in the center of the dashboard. Do yourself a favor and go to the HowTune website and view the instruction steps and photos in "Changing the Cabin Air Filter on a Mazda3." Tools needed: 10 mm socket or wrench for battery negative cable removal (for safety since you will disconnect an interior fuse panel); 12 mm DEEP socket and 10-inch ratchet extension; medium Phillips screwdriver; small flat screwdriver; hands-free work light or flashlight; and a small hand mirror (to locate two screw heads on the filter compartment cover and also to check that the filter compartment is clean). You need to remove a dashboard trim strip, the entire glove box, the fuse panel below the glove box along with the fuse panel holder bracket, and the filter compartment cover. Note that removing the fuse panel involves disconnecting six wiring harness connectors. Read the HowTune information carefully to understand how the wiring harness connectors are removed and reattached. Also take a photo of the wiring harness connectors before they are removed so you know how they reattach (color coded). If you break or improperly remove/attach one of these fragile connectors, you will ruin the wiring harness/fuse panel and lose numerous functions such as power windows, HVAC fan, interior lights, and much more. The two filters are also stacked in the filter compartment, and you perform the filter stack partially blind, wishing you had a third hand to assist. You do all of this work while on your knees outside the car, reaching into the front passenger footwell while contorting your body and twisting your neck. Good luck!

Fits my 2005 Mazda 3 S hatchback great (but the install is awful)
Title says it all - great fit for my car, seems to do a great job filtering, but it’s a miserable process to install (Mazda’s fault, not Denso’s). I’m glad to have a high quality filter that will last a long time before I have to go through that again, because it was a quite unpleasant.Anyway, the fit is perfect, no odor, filter construction is great as expected from Denso.

They fit and work
The replacement process is a bit of a chore, but that fresh air is well worth the trouble.2008 Mazda3 hatchback, 2.3L

Good product, OEM fit, terrible instructions
Thank goodness for youtube. Each filter is unique and requires a very specific orientation to to fit in the housing. You'll save yourself a few minutes if you lay down the old ones exactly how you pull them out of the housing for reference installing the new ones
