Lang-O-Learn-always a quality product
As a speech pathologist, I buy lots of language stimulation cards. Lang-O-Learn never disappoints. I've seen stim cards that are blurry, ambiguous and /or so dark you can hardly see the object pictured. Lang-O-Learn stim cards are always bright, clear and precise. This set focuses on farm animals and a few other objects found on the farm I use them for my adults here in rural Central Pa.

Great for kids with developmental delays, but not all that sturdy.
This is an excellent set of photo cards! There are 20 photos of farm animals, barns and implements, with the identifying word on the back, repeated in 17 different languages. I think these cards have an excellent value for children with speech delays, or any young learner needing to build vocabulary. Real photos always work best for kids withe developmental delays, so the therapeutic value of these cards is obvious.I don't think the value for those learning other languages is as clear. Each of the language translations appear in a list on the back of the card. Each different language is indicated by a code symbol, which you then have to check against the master list to determine which language is which. There is no pronunciation help for any of the languages. While I think these cards will be a great choice for young learners with developmental delays, they aren't all that sturdy and it's unlikely they will last long. In many ways, this is a great product for the right audience. There are some key problems though that make this set just okay and a cautious investment.

Impractical but neat as a concept
The concept is great, and the potential behind the concept is there, but a few things make these cards 3.5 stars instead of 5:-$10 for 20 cards is a little steep-no pronunciation guides-no usable vocabulary (phrases are better than words. We don't speak in individual words)This is a cool novelty gift that is also educational, but it is not really helpful in learning a language unless you already know the letters, where applicable, and the pronunciation. It is not useful, for example, if you are traveling or trying to have even the most basic conversation. As for the pronunciation, some might say "but in what language do you explain the pronunciation, since there is no specific target language or assumed language for the learner?" The answer is to use the International Phonetic Alphabet, which is a standardized system of pronunciation.Cool toy, if I had to categorize it!

Doesn't Help If You Don't Know How A Word Is Pronounced in That Language
I ordered these cards for my granddaughter. She attends a very diverse school. She was eager to to through these cards and does so often. There are 20 different "On the Farm" photographic cards. There are 17 language variations, and that is all great and dandy. What I have a problem with is the fact there is no resource that sounds these cards out for the child. It's great to learn a new word in Korean, but if you don't know Korean and don't know how to say a word, it won't make a difference. I did go to the company website and they have different products. What I was looking for was something that could tel her how these words were pronounced. Instead, I found apps that said FREE, but when you got the Apple website (by the way we are Android users) there are in-app purchases that run from $15 to $199.I think we'll pass.

Poorly designed
The photograph cards are fine and for playing a review game for children who are very young or have language delays, I can see that it would be helpful.I was interested in having different language names for the animals so I could do some activities with my 3rd grade class, but the only language printed on the cards that is easy to see is English. There are 12 other languages but they are printed so small that even with my reading glasses (and I rarely need them), I can barely decipher the words. It would be helpful if the languages were each printed at least as big as the English and there certainly is plenty of room on the back of the card to do so. These are not very thoughtfully designed. I hope they make the adjustments to make these easier to use, since it is a good idea.
