Doesn't make financial sense and not supported very well
I've had the unit for over 5 years now, and it worked great and provided useful information that pinpointed an issue I was having in my home with my heating system, but I haven't used it since the initial monitoring period ran out as the annual monitoring fees don't justify the cost. However, my electric bill has been creeping up and I wanted to renew my monitoring subscription so I could see what was going on, but I am unable to verify that my hardware is still working properly and am unable to get support. My phone calls go unanswered (get pushed to voicemail with no callbacks) and filling out their online contact form gets no response. I can see the gateway device on my network but am unable to connect to it (wondering if it's a Windows 10 thing). I need to update the password in the gateway to my latest network password but can't do that if I can't connect to it. I've spent hours and exhausted all my troubleshooting skills on this one and there isn't much info available online. I don't think it would take much effort from their experts to figure this one out but they're not responding to my requests.

My evaluation of this product
Overall, I am really liking this product so far. Only installed a few days ago but has provided me with some great information already. My first suggestion is don't try and squeeze all the modules in the service panel. Get a junction box or 4"x4"x 2-3ft wire trough to nipple into with a 2-1/2 or 3 inch offset or straight nipple to store the modules inside so you can service the without having to access to the power panel. I had all 40 slots taken up in my 200 amp panel and this unit can monitor all of the plus more. The Ct wire leads are long enough to reach outside the panel except for the last ten circuit on the farthest end for one of the 3 expansion modules so I left one expansion module in the service panel. CT's are clamp on so very easy to install. If your not used to working in service panels, kick the family out of the house and kill the main breaker before installing ct's. (Safety first !). You will be pulling and pushing wires to get the ct's fitting properly inside the panel. The last thing your want it to short something to ground or to another phase.Instruction manual is pretty clear but the units are designed to connect wirelessly. Their is a Ethernet port but don't bother connecting, you need to upgrade firmware to use and if you do connect cat5 before software firmware upgrade it could mess with your ability to connect wirelessly.Online software for configuring you modules and ct's to appliances and loads is simple, intuitive and easy to setup. The smart phone app works but is a more stripped down version of the online computer application.Tech support for initial setup was prompt for my questions about the system over e-mail.Initial two year service contract was a little pricey as was the equipment. Overall, it probably cost me 1k but it's worth every penny to me since it allows me to monitor every single circuit in my panel as well as the mains coming into the panel.Suggestions for SiteSage: Make about 5 of the twisted 20A + 50A Ct wires 8-12 inches longer for those of use that don't want to cram all the electronics into the service panels. The electricians and home owners will thank you.

Excellent hardware, monthly costs are crushing.
I'll basically mimic what others have said here, and that is the hardware is awesome. It's accurate enough that the information it's spitting out at me is within 2% of a revenue grade meter I have installed. I've definitely been able to find some energy hogs in my house, and the web display is top notch. All of that is great. The monthly cost is a beast though. It's kind of dumb that a product that costs enough on it's own to already result in some high ROI's charges almost $20 / month (with the renewables package) to get your results on their website. That just isn't sustainable, and I suspect for all but the highest using consumer, will never pay back. I would gladly pay 5 bucks a month or so for the service, which would make it in the tolerable range for me. Good news is that they will allow you to access the XML info the actual gateway spits out via a difficult-to-get API, but once you have that, you can build your own display, if that's what you're in to. The only thing you can't do is change the circuit descriptions in the gateway itself, but that's not a huge deal.It makes it very hard for me to recommend this to anyone based on the initial cost combined with the monthly fee. If it were one or the other, I would gladly recommend it.I'm in the energy efficiency space professionally, and if it wasn't for the cost, this product would blow my socks off.

I love this monitor
I had the eMonitor installed 8 days ago after my power bill jump $140.00 from May to June. The problem was immediately apparent. I have 2 air conditioners on my house. The bigger unit was replace 2 years ago with a Lennox 14 seer 4 ton. The small unit was a 12 year 10 seer 2 ton, I want name the manufacture. The older unit was pulling between 4.5 and 5 kw per hour and was struggling. The Lennox was pulling between 3 - 3.5 kw. I talk to a trusted AC company and replaced the older unit. Now the new unit is pulling between 1.6 - 1.7 kw.I could have just replaced the unit but with eMonitor I was sure that I was making a good choose Also, I have insight into the whole house and can make adjustments as needed.

Product is not worth the money spent on it and the subscription.
Equipment is expensive and product subscription is expensive and I cannot keep it connected to upload my data! Customer service is extremely slow if they EVER get back to you... I would not recommend the product to anyone.
