Next-Level Lighting with True Smart Control. A Must-Have Upgrade for Any Home
I picked up the Philips Hue Smart 75W A19 LED Bulb, 2-pack, to upgrade some of the most-used lights in my home, and I've been genuinely impressed with how much of a difference they make. These might look like ordinary bulbs at first glance, but once you start using them, you really see why Hue has such a good reputation. Setup was extremely easy right out of the box. I screwed the bulbs in and opened the Hue app, and they connected straightaway. The soft, warm white light they produce is beautiful-not too yellow, not too bright, just that perfect cozy glow that makes any room feel more inviting. They're fully dimmable, so I'm able to switch from bright and energizing to low and calm depending on time of day or what I'm doing. Pairing these bulbs with the Hue Bridge is absolutely worth it if you really want to unlock everything that they can do. It means with the Bridge I can control the lights from anywhere, set automations, or have them turn on at sunset. The connection is rock-solid too, no Wi-Fi lag, no dropping off the network. Ultimately, the feature I think I love most is convenience. So, I had set up voice control through the Hue app, and now I could say, "Alexa, dim the lights to 30%" or "Hey Google, turn off the living room" without having to lift a finger. It works perfectly with Apple HomeKit too. It all feels incredibly seamless, one of those things where once you have it, you never want to go back. They're also fantastic mood setters. For dinner, the soft amber-like light makes the table feel warm and intimate. I brighten them up for reading or working and dim them low for late-night winding down so they're easy on the eyes. Overall, these Philips Hue bulbs are more than just smart bulbs, they are an effortless way to make a space feel more comfortable, more convenient, and more connected. For starting or expanding a smart lighting setup, this 2-pack is an excellent choice.

A variation of what I had- Tip: Buy the Philips bridge
Years ago I started making as many lights and appliances in my home smart appliances. One of the first purchases, before buying smart plugs and switches was the precursor to these bulbs. At the time it REQUIRED the Philops bridge. So I bought it. I have to guess that it has been 6 or 7 years, but one of the bulbs burned out, but one was still going. I decided just to order two more and put the remaining bulb in another fixture. The shape of these bulbs is different than the originals, but has the same specs. I had the previous bulbs programmed with Alexa and was wondering what I had to go through to make the new bulbs operate with the existing group. So I followed the directions and programmed them through the Hue app and was surprised programming them was so easy and even kept the new bulbs in the same group. It was almost as easy to move the old bulb to a different fixture, but required deleting it first, then finding it again through the Philips bridge and Hue app. For home use I strongly recommend the 2700k version. It is nice, soft, genuine incadescent light. Some folks (IMO mistakenly) order 3200k which are too blue and even 5000k bulbs, which are garish. Pay attention to the color temperature rating. I have other non-Philips Hue bulbs, but these seem to give off the most natural color. Yes, these bulbs are more expensive than other current smart bulbs. But my experience is that they last for years. And while they can be programmed (I believe) through Bluetooth or other means, the Philips bridge makes it easy.

I Stayed Away Too Long
After trying numerous brands, including name and off-brands, I finally purchased some of these. I got them used months ago and am impressed. I've had to reconnect one a couple times, but they are otherwise perfect. They are pricey but if they last as long as 22 years, they are worth every penny. These bulbs are Zigbee compatible which is exactly what I needed. I do believe the color changing bulbs are way too expensive though. One other note is that they aren't terribly bright but they work fine for what I needed. There's even one in the garage which is not climate controlled and did fine in the summer and winter.

Control Lights Using Amazon's Alexa!
Ok, so I don't like having to get up to turn lights off and on or to have them stay on once I leave the room. It's nice to have lights that have motion sensors to control how long the lights stay on, but it's nicer when you can say "Alexa turn the lights off in the bedroom in X minutes and it gets done every time. Or say Alexa turns on my bedroom lights at X am or pm. This is really good when you are leaving and know that you will be coming home after dark, but with Alexa and these bulbs throughout the house you don't have to worry about walking into a dark home.. Not only that you can set the lights to less than 100% illumination for a more relaxing atmosphere. For me it is convenient when moving from room to room and not sure if I am going back soon and it helps with the controlling of usage of utilities as well. One more nice thing is that you can have your bedroom lights to turn on prior to your alarm going off to wake you a little slower than just hearing a loud noise disturbing your sleep (LOL). Overall I have used these in the living room, bed room, basement as well kitchen. It's nice when you go into the kitchen to get a snack or water or some other LIQUID REFRESHMENT (LOL) in the middle of the night and be able to say, "Alexa turn kitchen light off in twenty minutes". Giving you time to get to where you're going using the light from the kitchen shining down the hall so as to avoid the banging of one's toe on something or stepping on a child's toy should here be one on the floor. Overall, it can be a little expensive starting out depending how many bulbs you have to replace. Oh, one more thing, for some reason the bulbs I was using before seemed not to last long these LED type bulbs. Much to my surprise they seem to be a better buy for me because of how long they are lasting. I have had other LED type bulbs prior to ordering from Amazon so overall I have had these types in use for more than five years. Not counting the ones I am using to complete the whole house being converted over tso that every light can be controlled by Alexa. I think the last to be converted will be the outside lights since I believe they can be set up to be turned on at sunset and off at dawn.

Great product and support
I recently purchased 6 of these smart light bulbs. All worked with exception of one, that would not pair with Alexa. I could turn it on and off using the switch and was visible to Alexa but would not respond to it. So I contacted support and was really amazed at the level of support, just for a light bulb. They must have spent 20 min guiding me to pair the product. I’ll buy more now knowing the support is there if I needed. Than you Philips heu support team.
