Q: What is the voltage and plug configuration for the power supply?

Just emailed Seagate to ask this exact question. Here was their response:The power supply specs are:Power Supply: 12-Volt 2-Amp OutputPower Supply Barrel: Outside 5.5mm Inside 2.5mmNote, this is really 2 Amps or more as the device will draw as much power as it needs, but must be 12-Volts only. So a 24 or 36 Watt adapter at 12 Volts with the right barrel size should work fine.

Q: How do I access GoFlex Home Personal remotely with this device?

You access the shared files on the GoFlex Home via Seagate Share ( www dot seagateshare dot com ).First you must plugin the device to your home router using ethernet cable and turn on the device. Copy files to the device. Set the folders to be shared. Then you must setup remote users access on the web site seagateshare.com At this point any remote user that you setup can access the shared files that you allowed them access.

it is compatible indeed, however what is really a piece of rubbish is the seagate drive, i bought four of them in a years time they are giving my it guy issues, dump the drive and buy a better drive

yes, it'll work with any Ethernet cable grade, obviously the higher the better data transfer. I've even mounted 3.5 hdd's without enclosures, it really rocks.
