AquaClear Extension Tube for 70, 110 Power Filters

Ordered to use on my AquaClear-110 as an extra filter on my 210-gallon tank. So, I needed an extra tube as this tank is much taller than my others. It arrived sealed in a Fluval labeled bag but upon opening it I instantly realized it was slippery & had some type of oil or grease like material all over it. I washed it, I dried it, I let it sit out in the sun, but it still had that coating on it. After repeating the process, I was comfortable placing it in my tank but more out of necessity than desire. It did take the filter some extra time to suck up the water & get going with the extra (3rd) tube on it, but it worked. By the time it took to get the filter running properly I noticed air bubbles were coated all over the new tube & the new tube only (with the oily substance on it). I don't normally use carbon in my filters, but I added large bag of it out of concern for this tube & the unknown substance on it. It has been over 24 hours & all the fish & snails are fine, but I cannot recommend this product without knowing exactly what that oily substance it comes coated with is & why.

Got this to extend my intake Down on a deeper tank, no issues so far

This is a great replacement extension tube for the Fluval 110. Sometimes they break and you need the tubes to be closed to protect the fish and to go all the way down to prevent the fish from getting sucked up against the openings. Having two of these will extend the tubing down towards the gravel, you can even do three of them. I found that having just one of these tubes and the Fluval 110 was not enough. The little fishies would get sucked up against the opening and die if you don't catch it in time. By extending these tubes you can get them to go way down towards the gravel and the fish are alot safer. So you attach 2-3 of them together....simple. Also, if one of them break at the bottom you can switch any of the other two around.

It is what I thought it was. I have an aquaclear 70 and a 110 on my tank. The tank is relatively deep, the filters came with two extensions. I added a third extension to both filters to get closer to the bottom. Overall I think fluval could use a more durable plastic for these filters and the extensions are not super tight. They fit together easy and have not caused me any problems so far.

I purchased this to add to the end of the python water changer hook. This fits snuggly and allows the use of the hook to do a water changed on larger deeper tanks. It also acts as a water diffuser when refilling the tanks. It also stops small fish from getting sucked into the hook.
