Alpine SwissMens Plaid Scarf Softer Than Cashmere Scarves Winter Shawl

I loved this scarf when I first began using it. It is a great length, and its colors are quite handsome. And it certainly does its job--it keeps my neck warm.However, this scarf sheds a lot. And the source of this shedding is its interaction with my chin. I keep myself fairly clean shaven, but nonetheless the little bit of hair on my chain is enough to constantly shave off big tufts of fabric from the scarf. These tufts not only hang embarrassingly from my chain, but they stick all over my nice black coat and require a lot of separate cleaning to remove. It's honestly quite a hassle, and I'll likely be ordering a different scarf soon. My other scarves do not behave this way.I repeat--I do not have a large beard. I have very little facial hair. And since this is a men's scarf, they should expect it to1) be worn by men, most of whom presumably have hair that spouts continuously from their faces, and2) come into occasional contact with the aforementioned hair on their chins.If these two things cause a disintegration of the scarf, I suspect the scarf needs to be made of a more durable material.

Great scarf for $10! I highly recommend! Not only is this a good product for the price, the customer service is awesome. There was a small blemish when I received it and not only did they send me a replacement, they asked that i donate the first item to someone who needs it this winter! Great job on making the product keep someone else warm!

Note: 3 stars means "It's okay" according to Amazon and that's how I feel about this product, the fabric is scratchy and does NOT feel high end at all! (which is only a con because they call it "elegant fashion"). From the description I expected a higher quality item.It's not a bad product for the price and does help with the cold but please, dont expect high end, because it's not. Having said that, I've used it several times already so I must think it's okay!. The black color looks good and the length is plenty for me being 6'2 (and that's hard for scarfs).I like providing reviews that actually help, if you think it does help, mind marking it as such (below)?

I ordered a half-dozen scarves from four different vendors. I'm heading to Denver on a trip and needed something for warmth.+ Nice and wide, so when you fold this over you get a good thick scarf> Overall the scarf is a little thin, but this is less noticeable since it is 12-inches wide and you can fold over to make it feel thicker+ I ordered the Blue Houndstooth and the Red Plaid. Both look very close to the pictures here on Amazon.+ I received the two colors very quickly via Prime/Free Returns shipping.> The colors I wanted were Dusk Plaid and Hunters Plaid, but neither offered via Prime shipping. Darn!+ I wound up keeping the Red Plaid so I'm not always wearing black, blue and greys. Plus out of the half dozen this is the softest without feeling like silk .+Also nice and warm!+ Under $10, so price is right.OVERALL: Since I'm keeping one of these, I'm interested in checking out this brand some more. Maybe now that I've seen what the other scarfs are like, then I may just end up ordering the Dusk Plaid even though there is no Prime/Free Returns on that one.

I purchased two different patterns to share with my wife on a [then] upcoming trip to the North Carolina mountains in November. The weather was not bitter cold, but for we two thin-blooded Floridians it was cold enough to warrant these scarves. Indeed, some of the locals were wearing warm attire, so we did not seem out of place.These are long, and require longitudinal folding else they will resemble shawls. I was stuck by just how wool-like they are considering that they are synthetic, especially the softness and ability to trap body heat.I purchased one described as red stripe, and another described as blue stripe. I was expecting just a stripe. They were actually plaid, with plaid pattern very subtle and the red (or blue) stripe as very prominent. Very attractive, and definitely unisex in both design and pattern.Overall I am completely pleased with the purchase and satisfied with the price and value. These are not cashmere by any stretch, or even merino wool, but they are functional and definitely worth the budget price.

I used this scarf on a trip to the NE United States during winter. I walked in sub freezing weather wearing plenty of layers but only this and a beanie on my head/neck/face and I stayed warm. I'm very happy with the colors/design and the price. Would buy another

I don't really have much to say about this. I was looking for a scarf that had a more subdued color so that it was more masculine that the wide range of color available to women. It keeps my neck warm during the cold snaps. I gave it five stars not because i love it but because it's only for one purpose, of which it fills very well.

Wanted a scarf. Like black and white. Got scarf. Nice scarf. Warm enough for a chilly (30s) day. I have an obscenely large neck (20+ inches) and the one issue I have will all scarfs, not only this, is that to do the double up, pull through itself thing (like in the picture), does not leave much scarf remaining hanging. Not an issue for those of normal size though I would not expect.

Already coming apart after initial cold water wash + delicate cycle dry. Won't be to sad if I lose this one at a clients house this winter.
