L900-5 5m Smart LED Strip Light Multicolour WiFi LED Lights

I have bought these LED strip lights multiple times for different areas of my room, including behind my wardrobes, mirror and TV, and they have been great overall.For the price, they are much cheaper than many similar alternatives, but the quality still feels very good. The 5m length is also really generous and gives plenty of flexibility depending on where you want to place them. They create a really nice atmosphere in the room and are perfect for adding background lighting or making a space feel more modern.The app is easy to use and allows you to change the colours and settings without much hassle. I also use mine with Alexa, which makes them even more convenient because I can control the lights with voice commands. Setup was straightforward, especially when following the instructions and app prompts correctly. They also work with both Android and Apple devices, which is useful.My main issue is that, despite having a good internet connection, the lights do seem to drop offline from time to time. When this happens, they sometimes need to be reset, which can be incredibly inconvenient, especially if they are placed behind furniture or in harder-to-reach areas.Overall, these are affordable, good-quality LED lights that are easy to set up, simple to control, and excellent for improving the look and feel of a room. However, the occasional connection issues are worth keeping in mind before purchasing.

I absolutely love the Tapo L900-5 LED strip light! I initially installed one set underneath my media wall cabinets, and I’m already planning to grab another 5m set for my main kitchen units because they’ve made such a huge difference.Installation was a breeze. The adhesion is excellent it stuck perfectly the first time and the setup via the Tapo app was quick and straightforward. The brightness is super bright and easily adjustable, which is fantastic for setting the mood (or seeing what I’m doing!). What really makes these lights special are the colors and effects. The app is fantastic, offering a huge array of colors and animated effects. My kids absolutely adore cycling through all the vibrant options, and the lights have become a talking point with every guest who comes over.The smart control integration with Alexa works perfectly for me, making hands-free operation simple. While I know some users have had mixed experiences with color accuracy or long-term functionality, I’ve had a consistently reliable and fun experience so far. They are genuinely a wonderful, high-quality addition to the home, and I’ve already recommended them to friends and family who have happily purchased their own based on my enthusiasm. Highly recommended!

Have four sets of these in the house and I think they are great. The general Tapo functionality (which I won’t review here) is very flexible and powerful (have a few other Tapo devices in the house).What I like, particularly:1) Choice of colours2) Ease of installation: adhesion is great whilst at same time allows relocation, and plenty of wire length either side of manual switch to allow ideal placement of the switch and lights.3) The manual switch is a handy function, eg makes it possible to use the product as a light in your bedroom instead of a bedside lamp.4) Brightness is good, and is of course variable.5) Away mode (good for home security).6) Cutable.7) Power efficiency8) Consistency of brightness and colour between units.9) Robustness and quality.10) The effects. Fun for the kids, especially.My one gripe:The interface for setting the colour is shown in the picture in this review. It’s a terrible piece of design. It is almost impossible to set the same colour across all units. When dragging your finger to the desired spot, it isn’t possible to see exactly where on the circle the choice is placed (the CAPS letters change as you move your finger, so you get some feedback) but then lifting your finger changes the setting. Infuriating! It takes many attempts and many minutes in a trial-and-error fashion to nail it. There are two simple solutions to this that TP Link should implement:1) make it possible to set the colour by typing into the CAPS letters field. In the picture you can see that I (after bl&&dy ages) managed to select FFFFFF (hexadecimal standard colour code for pure white) with the circle, but it would be MUCH easier to type in FFFFFF instead.2) A manual selection of colour, like my choice of FFFFFF, should be saved in the app and usable for all the units in the house, but it isn’t. Each unit has to be set up individually, in terms of customised colours. Saved customised effects across units are possible, so saving colours should also be.

Easy set up for us and we've tried a few different ones in other rooms however this one is the only one where the bulbs are all still working correctly and it's used every day for most of the day since we put it up in 2023 instead of the main light. Works well with a Alexa routines. If I had the money I would buy it for every room.

I love my LED lights. They are compatible with my LG TV. There’s no remote control you can control it via an app on your device or by Alexa. Personally I find them very good quality. I haven’t had any issue with the lights. They create a great ambience in my room. Very easy to use as I just tell Alexa to turn it on the quality is great. I caught my strips to fit my TV and it looks perfect.

Recently moved house and had a few Tapo bulbs to set up so got this as it’s the same brand. The TAPO app makes set up of their devices very easy. No issue with dual band routers. It finds the device quickly and immediately adds it to Alexa.The LED strip is nice and sticky and the brightness is pretty good for the size of this. Their app has lots of effects to choose from and the sound reactive one is really clever. You get buy LED strips for a bit less but I find Tapo stuff to be quality and it just works.

Great - love it. Have some of these behind the bed to change colour, and also some in the kitchen as downlighters to add some class. 3M sticky back, so sticks well. Reliable so far after months of use, changes colour when set up with Alexa, and you can cut to length to put under kitchen cupboards. Have Phillips Hue too, and can't tell the massive price difference vs functionality to be honest.

I was very pleased with these leds when I purchased them in Jan 2022. They work well with Alexa and great on the apps schedule. I used led channel aswell so adhesion was never gonna be a problem and the diffuser lid on the channel gave a very professional looking light. The only problem is I woke up a couple of days ago and instead of being off, as per the schedule, they were glowing red. I tried to turn the off but according to the app they were off.. they worked fine when on but they would not turn off and remained on but red. This gave my bathroom what I imagine would be the look of a knocking shop. I contacted TP-LINK and after a few exchanges they announced they were faulty and I needed to contact the seller. Amazon as usual were great and refunded my purchase cost of £19.99 but unfortunately in the 11 months I've had them the cost has increased to £39.99!!! So, after much consideration re buying an off the shelf RGB led strip controller I've ordered these again. I've got to hope that the problem is only with the controller as I cannot get at the led strip easily due to where it is installed in the bathroom. Update. The LED strip was 8ndeed ok and it was the controller that had failed so let's hope I get more than 11 months operation out of my 40 quid ...

Ok basic led strip, affordable and connects to smart devices. App is limited. 2 weeks and its started to lose connection to wifi, have to reinstall frequently. Bit dissappointed
