I recently bought this dartboard "arachnid arcade style cabinet with cricket pro 800" will the light mount on top with no problems?

I have the same cabinet with the 650 and I mounted this on the front plate with the arachnid name plate with the lights at an angle shooting towards the board and it works great it lights up the board just fine the way I have it if I could send a picture I would.

Can this light be mounted to a Viper foam backboard?

Yes. BUT you need to mount them out from the "wall" surface to get the light on the board.
