Faulty Unit - Customer Service Replaced :)
I'm updating this review to 4 stars, overall I'm happy with this product. I received a faulty product where the app would not connect to the unit and it was quite frustrating. However, I reached out to their customer service and they sent a replacement unit. It has since been working great and it's super convenient. I'm much happier with my purchase!----- really wanted to like this product, especially because the previous model was so highly rated. Connecting the unit to the app is impossible, the wifi connection won’t show up within settings and the customer service times are inconvenient to my work schedule. Idk how to get in contact with this company for a new unit or refund. :(

Pick a known brand instead. Aggravating wifi setup.
I got the product today. WiFi connection is required before you can use the feeder. I've followed all the instructions at least seven times and it still won't connect.It's right next to the router.There is nothing else on the network.The network does work, verified by my phone.The network password is correct.There are no spaces or special characters in the password.The green light is flashing.The reset process correctly makes the 'di-didi' sound.The app sees the feeder.The app connects to the feeder.The feeder remains offline.I have rebooted the app.I have removed the feeder from the app and re-added it several times.I restarted the phone.I restarted the app several times.I am on an android, I gave it permission to see my location while using the app - there is no permanent location option.Nothing has worked.Searching for answers on google only brings up a lot of other companies, making me think that this feeder won't be good for the long run. I worry about what might happen if I leave for a significant period of time and the feeder has a network issue.I would recommend any other brand instead of Veken so at least you may be more confident in troubleshooting and support.**UPDATE**I figured it out! Kinda.It seems that the android app doesn't really work. I had an older iPad and tried that out - I was able to get it connected using the iPad and could tap the bluetooth version to update it. After that, the feeder worked as expected and the android app can interact with it.I'm leaving it as a 1 star, however, because the product relies so heavily upon a working app to even start using. This leaves it as a potential hunk of junk if something ever goes wrong with the app. I'm lucky I happened to have both an apple and android device so I could troubleshoot.

No Wi-fi = No food
The media could not be loaded. I bought this feeder on December 4, 2021 and I really liked it because I thought my pet was going to get his food all the time thanks to the battery back up function- (which is true when your power goes off) BUT when your internet is down it will NOT dispense any food. So, if you go away and you leave your pet at home and your internet stops working, your pet will not get his food. My advise… buy the regular feeder and save the extra money you are paying for this unit. Unfortunately, I’m unable to retuned this product as it is after the time allowed to do so :-(

I am puzzled with this thing
I wanted to get a small scale , pleasant to look at and possibly easy to use , smart doggy food dispenser .I thought I did order exactly what I was looking for . For main part , yes it is . But if you can make it work !No matter how hard I tried , couldn’t make it . I am not blaming the company for this , I just am not technologically advanced person . But for a dog food dispenser, do I have to be ?It’s almost 2022 and if you are selling something like this , should be easy to use , otherwise what’s the point ?I should have read all the reviews before I ordered it .Good luck if you are gonna order it . Or be ready to tackle some technical issues…

Battery mode is awful
I bought to use this on battery primarily but it doesn’t have full functionality running on battery mode. According to the instructions you set it up the feeding schedule when connected to WiFi, and then it should maintain that schedule when it goes to battery only mode (it disconnects from WiFi when running on battery.) unfortunately I’m not finding that to be the case and the feeding times are off by several hours. Also battery mode doesn’t track feeding history at all. If there is no fix for this I will be returning because I need something that works on batteries.

Worked great untily network mame changed, I haven't been able to connect it to the new network name. I emailed the company and no help

Instructions, instructions, instructions!
The pet feeder itself is good and appears to be well made. However, the APP and the instructions are where I am cutting stars. The instructions are poorly written with no clear directions. The WiFi works at the end of the day if you are patient enough.
