Take your fitness routine by storm with this versatile running shoe from ASICS. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

It does run small. Hard cushion.
With "gel" in its name, I was expecting a more cushy running experience. This is not the case. The shoe is very light. The bottom is very rigid, so feels very responsive. But I feel this is not the best choice for running, especially if you have joint/knee issues, are on recovery, or a bit overweight (because of the added stress on your knees when running, cushion becomes more important). This is more like a walking/training shoe, decent for running, but just beware that it is a pretty hard shoe (but extremely light!).Size-wise, I usually wear 9.5. Sometimes if it's a larger/wide fit I could do with 9. But the 10M US size fits me very snug. So definitely buy at least 0.5 bigger than your normal size.

Rubber sole falling apart with a week.
I purchased these shoes a little while back because they were on sale for a really good price. I recently took them out of the box, and within a week the black rubber on the bottom of the show is hanging off. It's as if someone either failed to glue the rubber down, or the glue is just bad. This isn't the first pair of ASICS I have owned that have had this same problem. I would recommend not buying these shoes. They also fit too tight near the toe area of the shoe, causing pain and discomfort. It looks as if my toes will break through the side of the shoe, long before the shoe has any normally expected wear and tear.

Look great, fit great, high quality.
My second pair of these. I also have the black and green. The shoes are very durable. My heel tends to create holes in the heel of my shoes. These have lasted longer than most and I walk/run several miles almost every day. They seem a bit tight when you first put them on but very quickly they stretch just enough to hug your feet just right.

Stand true to their name
As is tradition asics are the best common shoe for running, walking, standing, and these prove no different. Very light, breathe well, and are comfy to wear all day long. I used them mainly for running and experienced no break-in period and was able to use them and not get any blisters. Most of my runs consisted of 3-10 miles on indoor track, sidewalk, or treadmill

Not exceptionally durable, but worth the price I payed. Also where is the 13.5 US?
Not too durable. I ripped a hole in it stepping on a branch in my backyard. Possibly a consequence of ASICS trying to make the shoe lighter. My biggest complaint is the size, but I won't ding the shoes for it. When you get to my range of shoe sizes, each brand varies widely. I've been everything from a 12.5 US to a 14 US, but each brand tends to be consistent in it's shoes. That being said, with ASICS I'm a 13.5 US. Sadly Amazon doesn't list that as an offering. Since it had been a few years since ASICS had been in my price range, I decided to give the sale a shot at 13. Yep, just a bit too small.

THE MEN'S SIZES RUN SMALL, TOO!
I read the reviews for the women's and the men's styles of shoes from this manufacturer. The women's shoes reviews repeatedly mentioned the shoes running small, but the men's shoes reviews indicated that they were pretty true to size. Not true! I chose the men's size that was indicated on the conversion chart, but the shoes were still VERY snug on my foot. I returned them for a whole size larger, and that did the trick. The larger shoes fit wonderfully and feel great.

Mine are among the most comfortable shoes I own
Purchased 2 pair, one for me and one for my wife. Mine are among the most comfortable shoes I own. I don’t run, but power walk approx. 5 miles per day. I ordered them a half size larger than my normal size as recommended by other reviews, glad I did because they do run small. The tongue of the shoe is permanently attached about 2/3 of the way up from the base of the tongue. This did not cause me any problem. However, if your foot is thick, from the sole to the top of your foot, the shoes may seem too snug. The thicker your foot the more snug they feel. That was my wife’s problem, even unlaced they were uncomfortably snug. Returned hers but am keeping mine.

Very good for a walking shoe
I am an avid fan of the Asics running shoes, and have been for quite some time. I purchased this shoe as a walking, rather than running, shoe. It is nice and light and offers plenty of cushion for walking. It does run a bit smaller than other running shoes from Asics. My suggestion is that if you are going to use it as a running shoe, give yourself an extra 1/2 size compared to other Asics shoes. To those that prefer a light weight shoe and do need the extra cushion, as do I, this shoe may work very well
