Sky Viper 01602 Pro Series Streaming Video Drone Toy

So I've been using the Sky Viper V2900PRO for a few weeks now and I must say, this is one nifty little drone. At first it was slow learning since the company didn't include much for instructions (on a $200+ drone, for real guys?!) But they obviously have been listening to customer feedback since the latest firmware update included an in-depth explanation of the controller functions and what not.There are still a couple little things that should be changed but I'm optimistic that the company will listen to customers like me.1. The auto hover doesn't hold a steady altitude, it's always dropping slowly so the user has to throttle up a little to keep it level.2. The pics and video are decent (especially for the price) and some actually come out very clear but sometimes pictures just seem to end up a bit blurry. (Attached a couple examples)3. The app could use a little work but it's been improved since I got the drone so again, I'm optimistic.4. Again on the app - you have to export pictures to the app then to your phone (double export to get it on your phone) which is a slight nuisance.But literally everything else has been great:1. Battery life is much better than other drones I've owned (albeit they were smaller)2. Controllers are responsive and sensitive but not too sensitive.3. As easy to fly as any other drone I've owned.4. Came with an 8GB memory card, in case you dont have one, but has been working perfectly with my 32GB Sandisk Micro SD5. Easy to install/replace the propellers - they actually screw on so they are more secure and comes with a tool to hold the motor while unscrewing.6. Has a nice weight to it so it doesn't get blown around by the wind too much - but at the same time compact enough to travel with.I also own a stunt drone from this company and this video drone was an great step up to start getting into FPV flying, photography, etc without breaking the bank.

1-5-16 updated 1-9-16I would give it 0 stars if I could. The firmware won't update. Just keep saying the firmware failed to update restart update. You can't fly the copter until it sinks to the app on your phone. It won't seem to the app on your phone until it updates. You can't even just use a controller to fly it. There is practically zero instructions for troubleshooting on this problem. I will update this review if they ever get back to me and tell me how to fix this problemCalled skyrocket toys on Friday morning,they called me back Friday afternoon. The two guys at skyrocket tried to help me as much as they could but didn't know too much cause they are not part of the sky viper drone department. They gave me a better email to use so I sent an email right after I got off the phone. A tech from sky viper called me on the following Monday. Turns out that as of 1-9-16 the sky viper app doesn't work with the pixel phone. Luckily I have an old Galaxy Note 4 that synced up to the droid. He told me unfortunately I'll just have to use it until they can fix the app. I will say I was very happy with the customer support. I still haven't been able to fly the drone yet cause of the really bad weather we are having right now. I will give a review after I fly it for a bit.

You have to have space to operate this quad. On launch, it jumps about 9 feet in the air. The satellite tracking seems to work better than a lot of reviews give credit. As far as the updating the firmware, it did take three tries for me, but it loaded fine. The camera is not movable and it does have a bit of a downward angle to it. It does struggle a bit when it comes to stable video shots although the quality is far better than cheaper quads I started with. This quad is no stunt machine but it seems to have plenty of power to maintain relative position even with a 4 or 5 MPH wind. I like this quad for the simple fact that the positioning gives me confidence to go to higher altitudes for higher shots. The still camera shots are actually quite good even given the constant movement of the drone. I would have given the fifth star if it hovered a bit smoother and the camera weren't fixed at the angle it is. My fix for horizon shots has been fly backwards and snap the shot.

Pretty damn good for the price. The directions are horrible though n it might take a while n some damage before u figure it out. Download the app and then in app download maps of where U will fly before u use. The gps hold only works sometimes but it still in beta. When it's high up it seems to hold better. Looking forward to next update to app.

I found the skyviper v2900 pro to be a good tool for the price as an entry level for video. Even though it lacks the info in the manual for setting up geo fencing an other info that is needed it is a good flyer and got some canadian geese taking off from the river behind them.

Nicely made drone, and supposedly has nice features offered in the app, however the app won't work. It tells me there's a firmware update available, and it fails every time I try to update. I've made sure everything is connected correctly...wifi, drone, etc, multiple times. re-downloaded the app, restarted, and nothing. The app is useless, and therefore all the supposed feature are useless. Very disappointed. Left email in SkyViper support site and haven't heard anything from them.Still nothing from Sky Viper support. So far my experience has been horrible. Do not buy this drone!! I'll be returning it and buying something better.

What battery is for the 2900 viper. I see a lot of batteries out there
