I bought this for my grandson who has recently found slide boards. He loves it. The magnet is strong enough to hold the tiles in place. The construction is sturdy. Great buy.

My son likes to scramble the numbers and slide them back into place over and over. I think using numbers is easier than pieces of a picture when it comes to solving a sliding puzzle. I like that this is magnetic, too. The pieces can come out and be placed back onto the puzzle easily.

This puzzle is really fun. I gave it to my husband, and he and everyone else has used it a lot.

So I'm a computer science tutor and I have been recently been getting into puzzles lately to find some activities for my students. I ordered the 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5. All three of them are made of plastic, with some rubber stoppers on the back end so it doesn't slide on the table. The feel for all of three of them is highly satisfying, and the puzzle is ALOT easier than a 2x2x2 rubiks cube (which is great for beginners). What i mean by easier is that its a lot more possible to discover the algorithm to solve this Klotski puzzle from scratch than a 2x2x2 rubiks cube, so if your looking for a puzzle, gift them this. I would recommend gifting the 3x3 and 4x4 together, since the algorithm to solve an n x n Klotski is the same, and tackling the 3x3 first allows one to discover it. (P.S. When looking for a puzzle gift, always give the easiest version first). Anyways, its a good Comp Sci/Mathematics toy. Yes the pieces come out, its held in by magnets so they don't spill out if holding it face down. However, this is a actually a PLUS. I been looking for numbered blocks as a physical tool to teach sorting/searching algorithms, so these puzzles double as a tool for that. Plus its also a good way to show that some Klotski permutations, are not solvable if. For example, arrange from 1 - 15, then swap the 15 and the 14, turns out that permutation is mathematically impossible to solve, which is neat.

Figures keep falling out, even if you press on them very lightly.

Not magnetic at all.

I wish it was made of real wood. If it was, the price would have been right. But since it is not, it is expensive - this is plastic, the quality of workmanship is low.
