I had and old and cheap jig saw I bought in high school for a single project in 1972. ithe last 50 years I used it infrequently but enough to know it’s hard to change blades, it doesn’t have a blower so dust covers your line you are trying to follow, and it’s light weight feels cheap in the hand and nearly impossible to control. Its one speed only no variable speed. This new jig saw from DeWalt is a dream to use, the variable speed is a much needed feature, it has a blower so your line is easy to follow and it’s heavy enough that the saw is controllable and doesn’t feel like it’s out of control and by comparison the blade change is easy and fast. It’s like driving a new Mercedes in comparison to driving a 62 VW bug.this thing is a new tool to me and I’m used it more in the 3 weeks i’ve owned it then I used the other jig saw in 50 years. Now, to be clear, I’m not a cabinet maker or a custom home builder. I am a homeowner that built my own house and have extensive framing experience and have worked in all phases of home building. I know a good tool in my hands and am a good judge of quality. I could not be happier. This tool has enough power to cut through 1 inch oak and the precision while doing it of an old world time piece. I think this is a very good saw and look forward to using it more often. I think DeWalt built a very fine tool. I always strive to buy the best tool I can afford for the job at hand and used table saws from the kind you can pick up with two fingers all the way up to A 14 inch blade stationary sliding table saw, all cast iron that weighed in the 2500 lbs range. this is not that behemoth but for a jig saw this works spectacularly. Buy with confidence. .

Great quality. Was able to accurately cut white oak startreads as well as rip through plywood. Battery life is good but you should get two to rotate out.

Bought this to compliment my collection of DeWalt power tools. We have used this more than I ever thought. Latest project was cutting the metal walls to install some C purlins. The saw worked fantastically and the battery lasted a long time. I recommend.

I had been using a hand me down, probably 50 year old craftman jig saw for years when it finally died. This is so much better. Easier to use, faster cutting and I wish I would have got it a long time ago. Works with the batteries I already have for other Dewalt tools.

I had to look up what an orbital jigsaw does. It walks thru tough material with an even more aggressive bite. Just what I needed for demolition on this 100 year old house

I could be considered the poster boy for Dewalt tools and love all their products. This jigsaw is no exception. It's heavy duty, very maneuverable, and makes accurate cuts. Blade is easy to install and very user friendly. I have only two gripes. 1. There is no LED light as stated (and was promised to another customer this erroneous information would be removed back in April of 2023). 2. It was shipped and arrived later than promised and would have appreciated that it would have arrived unopened (not Dewalt's fault). What makes up for both gripes, the price. Was able to purchase this on sale for $99.00 so I really couldn't pass up on buying it. Having the LED light would have made it 5 stars.
