Easy to play well made sound is very good

I'm adding the ukulele to my guitar playing, and this kit exceeded my expectations for the price. Very happy with this kit.

As a hobby luthier I submit this review. I imagine this is not common as most reviews are positive. The one I received has neck angle wrong. It is not possible to get a good playable set up. Even with saddle removed strings are very high at upper frets.i can't return because I began making changes trying to make it playable. BTW I have several other ukes that are fine.

I will preface this by saying I don't know much at all about the ukulele. I just want to learn. I did a little research before choosing this (there were a few choices when I opted for this) and I'm happy with the choice after spending some time with this instrument. (Judging by what other people have said, it's not an extremely high-quality uke -- but it's also not a high-priced uke. Fine by me, as I'm just deciding if this is going to be something I like!)It was packaged really well. Upon removal, you'lll see that the strings are prestrung and are made of flurocarbon; they didn't buzz noticeably and the sound (treble uke) is nice to the ear, at least as much as I can make it so just yet. The tuning pegs were easy to work with and seemed to stick well. Even when it sat for awhile, it didn't change a lot, though the strings are soft enough for some movement. (I saw that others suggested restringing with the spare strings; I may try that soon, but for now, my beginner fingers appreciate the soft strings more than I want to have to not retune.)I really liked the visual markers for the top -- I am just learning after all, and figuring out where G is by looking is helpful!The padded bag is great (see pics); I like the pockets and straps and all the accessories.All in all, a great price point and high quality for someone who doesn't know much yet but is interested in learning and wants a solid quality for starting out.

This is a beautiful, quality ukulele made from gorgeous wood. It's got a great sound and all the accessories you need to start playing. Even the strings that come with this are of great quality. THis would make an excellent gift for the beginner.

This is a high quality ukulele with some very unique features. There are 2 bevels, one on the bridge side and the other facing the player. This makes it easier to reach the lower frets and also more comfortable to cradle the ukulele respectively, and really makes a big difference when you are playing for a long time. Bridge action is low enough to be quite comfortable, again uncommon in low cost ukuleles. The supplied nylon strings weren't bad, though d'aquila strings were also supplied. Only slight complaint is the finish of the african mahogany tends towards the satin side. A bit too thin for my taste, and I would have preferred a more traditional thick shellac. And the sound? Wonderfully resonant. Not quite a hawaiian koa, but decent for a beginner.
