Q: 678 description says 100w light with 7w nightlight. The 679 does not have a night light. Does the 678 have a built in nightlight? Picture would help

No it does not. I bought this because it is listed in the amazon description as having one. I went to install it and found the amazon description was wrong. I did not find their error until I went to install it and had to return it two months later. They allowed the return but despite the error being on their part, they only issued a partial refund. It's been months since they were told and they still have the 7W nightlight feature listed.

Q: I am trying to replace the burned out light bulb but I can't get the light cover off. Is there a trick to that?

There is 2 tabs on the lens . Take a small screw driver and push in on 1 tab it should release the light cover. The tab is about 1 inch wide. They are straight across from each other.

Q: how do you remove motor and fan ?.

You remove the motor and fan from the room side of the device. Remove the light shade. Remove the light bulb. Being the light bulb is an acorn nut, remove it. Remove the light housing. Pry out the two tabs and remove the motor plate with the motor and fan. Replace the motor plate with a new one with new motor and fan included. Reassemble in reverse order.

Q: Can I run the fan & the light both on 1 switch? Im putting this in my cat's literbox closet & want it to run 24/7 & off a single switch.

Yes. Tie all whites together. Tie all grounds together. . Do the same on grounds pig tail to green terminal on switch. Take the black and and blue or might be red wire to light together with a pig tail. These are the hot wires to light and fan. Tie pig tale to brass screw on light switch spst. Black incoming hot wire goes to one brass screw on switch to light and fan The blue and black or red that you pig tailed to the fan and light goes to the other screw brass on switch.
