Very Useful - great for school work and in the kitchen - I use it often!
I love this recipe rock! I'm in school now and often have to follow instructions on paper. It saves my neck from cramping without having to look up and down all the time! I love using this in the kitchen as well. Since most of my recipes are either copied from friends or printed from the internet, I use it often. Besides propping the paper up so it's easy to read, it also keeps it off the counter, dry and food smear free; wonderful considering how messy a cook I am. It is small and non-intrusive and it even looks cool when not it use!I originally purchased one in black, and gave it to a friend when I needed a last minute thank-you gift. Since she was helping me type up a newsletter - the content on several pages of paper - I thought it was especially appropriate. She found it very helpful, and tells me she uses it often now. I missed having one so I ordered another one, this time in green - it matches my kitchen and study - so I'm once again very happy. This "rock" is very useful, I highly recommend it!

Essential in today's kitchen
Do you cook from a cookbook or do you tend to prepare recipes that you've printed on a sheet of paper? And when you do cook from a recipe on a sheet of paper, does it take up a lot of counter space, and get all wet, and generally become a mess before you're done cooking? If so, then the Recipe Rock was made for you.The Rock is small--about 2 1/2" high--so it doesn't take up a lot of storage space when not in use. It's magnet is strong, so it'll hold several sheets. The instructions say that it'll hold 8 sheets, but that depends on the thickness of the paper you use. I use about a medium weight, so about 3 sheets is the max for my Recipe Rock. Which is plenty. The Rock will hold a few sheets in a vertical or horizontal position, reliably, while you cook. In the vertical position, the rock and recipe take up almost no counter space. This is a great thing to have in the kitchen--it's also a great gift for your foodie friends. They're sure to love it.

Cute, small and functional
Cute, small and very functional. The magnet holds normal pages easily, but is also strong enough to hold thicker paper stock, index cards and even recipes that are in page protector sleeves. The curve of the base keeps the pages upright, even when held in vertical portrait position. As a bonus, I was able to get rid of my bulky 8x11 inch acrylic recipe holder and free up cabinet space, and also stop using scotch tape to stick a recipe up on a cabinet door. This obviously does not work with recipes that are part of a bound recipe book however, when using one of these recipes, I've learned to either make a copy and print, or take a photo with the ipad and stand the ipad on the counter.* * * I recently "misplaced" mine only to later find it upstairs on my daughter's desk. She was using it to hold her handwritten notes while she transcribed them onto her computer.I've since ordered several more - - one for each workspace desk and others for gifts.

The Architec Recipe Rock ROCKS!!!
I absolutely love this! It is incredibly handy for those times that you have printed out a recipe vs using a book. Sure you can set your tablet up and view it that way but hey, my screen goes black after a while (yes I know about my settings and can set it up not to or to extend the time but then I have to remember to go in and change it back) and if my hands are icky I don't want to have to stop to pull the recipe back up again not to mention if you are using a mixer with the splatter and all...don't want that on my gear...do you?Printing it out, setting it on this Rock and having it stay in place is perfect. If a recipe is a keep then I put it in a plastic sleeve to keep it and this will hold it up in the sleeve. It holds several at a time actually with a problem. Small enough to stay on the counter without being in the way.I totally recommend it and if you have family or friends that use recipes get them this for a gift!

Not exact color I was expecting but overall good
I purchased this not just for function but to match the decor in my kitchen which is more aqua. I knew it wasn't spot on but this really is more of a sky blue and not a match. I am still keeping it, and if you don't care about such things there is not too much to complain about. It holds a basic cardstock recipe card. I would also have liked that the small marble magnet part on the front to be a little flatter rather than a perfect sphere so that my card lays flatter and doesn't curve in when trying to read but that might limit the maneuverability of the card if trying to adjust or maybe it would add creases to the card itself? Overall it is sturdy and does the trick, but be advised it is definitely much closer to blue than turquoise which usually has greenish tones to it, which I would have preferred. Again if you just want a pretty color it is fine, but if you have kitchen items that are that aqua color that has been popular for a while you will notice it is not the same.

SO cleverly designed, makes cooking more fun.
The media could not be loaded. This video shows the Architec Recipe Rock holding 15 sheets of paper (20-pound grade). I've gotten it to hold up to 16 sheets but not very securely. I normally only need it to hold 1-3 pieces of paper, and the Recipe Rock holds them very securely in place. The slight curve to the rock helps hold up the paper so that it doesn't bend or collapse. It is much smaller than I expected (about 2 inches high and wide) which is a bonus as it takes up very little space on the counter top and can be stored easily in a drawer. (For a recipe ripped out of a magazine, use a looseleaf paper behind it if it wants to fall down.)On my Recipe Rock, the magnet resides inside the round metallic disk on the base (rock). The metallic ball is not magnetic.Obviously this will not work with cookbooks, but for recipes on loose leaf paper, this is a GREAT little kitchen gadget. As I normally have several recipes out on the counter top when I cook, I will be purchasing at least one more of these. (Update: I've since bought another for myself and 5 others as gifts. Everyone who received one loved them!)
