I have several xtava products and have been so pleased and impressed with them I keep coming back for more! This simple titanium flat iron works wonderfully and gets the hair straightening job done! At first, when I noticed that that the power switch was on the inside near the plates I thought it was a horrible design, but after using it I have decided it's actually quite a clever design, because there's no chance of accidentally shutting it off while you are using it! The straightener heats quickly and gives you three choices for temperature- 340, 400, or 450 degrees. The plates aren't huge, but they are super effective and I was able to easily straighten all of my hair smooth in just a few minutes. This is a great straightener to have on hand- easy to use, adjustable temperatures, super long cord (one of xtava's great features), and an awesome storage/travel bag that's heat protective lined to keep the rest of your gear safe. I highly recommend!**I also purchased the duo set of straighteners. The mini is fantastic for quick trips and backpacks! I'm an obvious xtava fan!

I am a licensed cosmetologist and I have been for over 10 years now. I have tried a lot of different flat irons and I have never used one that runs so smoothly through hair! Some of the snag little hairs or just kind of drag through the hair, but not this one. I completely understand why they call it gloss because it makes my hair very shiny and not at all frizzy. I like the fact that it is 1 inch because it is easier to do smaller sections this way and this is perfect for bangs! This has adjustable heat settings and it even has an automatic shut off!! I am a busy Mom and I usually unplug things, but this just gives me even more piece of mind. I hate waiting for these to cool down and always worry about my little girl pulling it down, but this comes with am amazing thermal bag, so I can store it away quickly! This is a wonderful flat iron at an amazing price!

Best flat iron I've ever used! This is the first flat iron that I have ever used that was titanium instead of ceramic. Most of the flat irons I have used in the past were either ceramic plated or ceramic covered. After using this product, I had less frizz and my hair was the straightest it's ever been, and so smooth! It lasted all day and I didn't even have to do a touch up straightening in the afternoon like I normally do with my old flat irons! Also, I love the fact that it comes with a heat resistant pouch so that if I am in a hurry, which I often am in the mornings, I don't have to wait on it to cool down before putting it away. This saves a ton of time! Another feature that is extremely helpful is the auto shut off. I always worry and wonder if I've remembered to turn the flat iron off, and would hate for anything bad to happen because it has been left off. With the auto shut off feature, I don't have to wonder and can have confidence that it will turn off on it's own if accidentally left on. I have recommended this product to several friends already and will continue to do so!

I have been in the market for a new straightener. I'm not really a crazy-expensive straightener girl- my hair just needs some help with shape and smoothing. So I'm writing this review comparing it to other budget straighteners, not products like chi.Pros- smooth, and doesn't snag my hair.Sturdy and attractiveGets nice and hotThinner heating plates gives more control than wide platesComes with a heat resistant pouch which is great for travelingCons- takes longer than I'd like to heat upI wish the plates were an inch longerThick construction would make it hard to use this for curl/waving your hair unless it is longerOverall, I'm really pleased with this straightener. I think it is going to last me a long time, and it works really well. For a lower price point straightener it is a great option. If the plates were longer and it heated up faster it would be a five star product for me. That being said, those two things don't take away from how sweet this product is.

This is a great little straightener for the price. The plates are the small 1" titanium and it travels well. I really like that the device heats quickly and the heat seems to be distributed evenly along the titanium plates. I have used this product a few times and am happy with he way my hair has turned out each time. I have very long straight hair and this helps take fly aways and reduces tangling. The best part of this device (and all the xtava products I have purchased) is the packaging. The outer box is very nice looking packaging, making it nice to give as a great gift. Inside is a sturdy black box with a foldover lid that I keep the flat iron stored in (it helps with keeping my bathroom closet organized). And inside the black box is a great little heat bag that is perfect for traveling.

Update 2021!This bad boy is STILL going strong. My best friend just bought it because every time she comes to visit she would rather use mine than hers so she finally just got her own haha. Just wanted to update everyone that 4 years and so far still great!Original review 2017This is a great straightener! Another fantastic Xtava purchase! Not only does it work great, but the price is amazing for the quality. The packaging is adorable if you want to gift it (though it would be really difficult to give it away!), and it even comes with a heat resistant travel bag. Highly recommended if you are looking for top quality for a low price!!
