Looks great, until it falls apart.
I have to be honest one of the main selling points on this crutch was the look of it - I have chronic knee issues and when you're on crutches as often as I am you get tired of the old gray drab. I picked these up because my old ones were showing some cracks and the cushions were in need of replacement, so I spent a bit more (probably double) to get these. I also felt the fact that they could break down easily was a good selling point too.I got them in December, 2011 but didn't need them for practical use (other than "testing them out") until last week when I had knee surgery to hopefully solve most of my problems once and for all. I accepted a spare pair of crutches from the surgical center and I'm glad I did because I'm honestly not sure how long these will hold up. Let me explain in detail:1) The Cushions: they look great and even look "soft" in the pictures - but the fact is they are made from a VERY firm rubber and are not soft at all. Add this to the fact that the hand cushions (as opposed to the ones on the top of the crutches) are EASILY removable, the functionality of these is way below par. Almost every time I use these to walk up steps using the standard method of putting both crutches in one hand and using the banister with the other hand, one or both of the hand cushions will come off and I have to spend time putting them back on and try to hold them in place while I'm trying to keep myself steady - this isn't safe to have to bother with. When removed, you can see a whole lot of dried glue where the cushions meet the crutches, but obviously their glue is inferior for their needed purpose. I plan on contacting the company to find out what they feel I should do about this, and I'll update this review based on their response.2) Breaking Down: As noted above one of the selling points for me was the fact that you could break these down to a smaller size, which I pictured would be great for putting into the car or to slide under my desk at work. Unfortunately it takes a while to break down and put back together, and there's no easy/simple way to get it all back into the spots where you had them anyway so it's just not worth it. I end up keeping them full-sized all the time. For the record you have to break down the lower "leg", the hand grips themselves and the upper area. Now, the GOOD side of this is all this makes it more adjustable than your normal crutches because you're able to fine-tune the size of the crutches a little more than you could with standard crutches - it just also adds to the time and effort it takes to break them down and to get them back in place - so it's kind of a wash.3) Parts Falling Off: In addition to the hand grips as I noted above, other parts that have been falling off of mine include one of the top cushion areas (not just the cushion but the entire black piece at the top of the crutch) which you can simply just pull right off of the top - so if I were to grab the crutches by the top at any time, one would come off right in my hand and I'd have to put it back into place. Again, like the cushions, you can see the dried glue that was supposed to hold it on but obviously wasn't doing its job. I've had to fix this problem with using a layer of double-sided tape wrapped around the metal stems and it seems to be doing OK for now. The third part that comes off far too easily is surprising to me - the bottom rubber "feet". Now during practical use they may stay on but if I bump them while the crutch is in the air (against a table leg, or when pulling them out of the car for example), these things fall right off. There's no glue or anything other than friction between rubber-on-metal holding them in place. Again to stop this from happening I've used the double-sided tape trick to get them to stay on better.4) General Stability: This is a problem as well, where it just makes you not feel extremely confident that they're going to hold up. While they seem to take the weight well, they make rattling noises while being moved. These noises come from all of the movable/adjustable parts - the hand grips, the adjustable top stems and the adjustable bottom legs - whenever they are in motion. It's not extreme but it just doesn't give you much confidence that they will hold in place well. Again I'll state that it's great to have 3 points of adjustment, but I just wish it felt sturdier.5) The Curve: these crutches are curved at the top where the cushion meets your armpit/upper rib cage. While it sounds like a great idea, I'm just not sure this makes a difference at all. Again, this may be simply because the cushions are so darn hard, but I feel no real difference in how they're shaped compared to my comfort using them. Sounds and looks like a great idea, but functionally I doubt it's really any different at all than using normal crutches that are straight.Overall I really can't give these crutches a good review. I honestly think people would be better off just getting standard crutches for half the price. The look is nice, but using crutches isn't a fashion statement, if the functionality is lacking or questionable as these are, it's not worth it.-Drake

Ergonomic Crutches - My Physical Therapist Loves Them
I had an ACL reconstructions and needed to get a pair of crutches. My orthopedic surgeon offered crutches at $44 for a pair of standard aluminum crutches. I figured, "If I'm going to be on crutches, I want them to be nice."Even though the site said shipping 3-5 days. I wrote the merchant an email letting them know I needed it in 3 days because I had surgery scheduled. By golly, it was here in day 3!Of course, I didn't know what to look for when I selected these crutches. They *seemed* to have lots of nice features and they looked nice. Now that I have them, I LOVE them.FORM - the crutches are contoured to your body, so it makes it easier to use and more comfortable under your arms. The head of physical therapy was impressed with them, that he got the name of the crutch/company so he can consider offering it to their patients. The bottom tip pivots so I felt stable while walking.STYLE - they don't look like those standard plain crutches. Everyone notices and comments on them. Sound superficial - that is because it is. (Hey, I'm a girl, I care about these things.) Someone on my sports team ask me if I got them from Neiman Marcus.STORAGE - not only are they adjustable (1 or 2 button adjustments - not the screw in adjustments that standard crutches offer) but they are collapsible. So they are easy to store if youre getting on a plane or need to put them away for someone to borrow in the future.IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED - my only complaint is the rubber pads. I *think* they could have made them a tad bit softer. I know this is a standard complaint folks have with crutches. I didn't get *rubbing* sore spots but I did get *pressure* sore spots on the palms of my hands. I put a lot of weight on my palms alot to go down stairs. Is there a solution for this? I don't know.I'm glad a bought them, they were well worth it.

Great crutches
I bought these for use after my knee surgery. They are quite well made and sturdy. The collapsible feature is very much appreciated. When in public places I can collapse them so no passers-by end up needing crutches as well. The curved handle and arm rests do help. The height and hand grip adjustments are easy and quick. The only complaint is the rubber pads are very hard, I bought gel pads and was very pleased. Comfortable pads and these would be perfect No matter how ya slice it crutches are not fun. I am 6'1" tall and these are just right for me fully extended. Proper sizing on crutches is very important. When extended they should come about 2" BELOW your armpits. At no time should they support your weight there, it will cause nerve damage. If you need crutches do some research on sizing before buying them and get the correct size. I will get more use next week after my hip replacement. Good luck to you!

Looks cool, made cheap
These crutches look nice out of the box. They collapse easily on the first couple of tries. There is a cheap plastic pin on the lower portion of the crutches which breaks incredibly easy. Once the two cent plastic pin breaks it will render the crutches useless. A pin of a different material would help these crutches immensely The crutches will work as long as you don't Adjust the height which is what they're all about. I adjusted the height three or four times and that's when the pin broke. I am trying to contact the manufacturer for a refund. BTW, one of the handles is already coming off these items are made like $@&! Do not buy until problem is corrected.
