10/10 would recommend!
I am not vert tech savvy, but this computer breaks everything down for you and that is so beneficial. My main concerns were speed -my last laptop was unbearably slow so i wanted one that was as fast as my smart phone- and battery life. This is everything I had hoped for and more! its battery lasts well over 5 hours streaming Netflix - and several days if im just using it foe school work an hour or so a day- and i do all my college work from this. it is super fast and the perfect size to commute with. I am blown away by the price because I honestly have zero complaints. Perfect laptop for the average person looking to do browsing or classwork, I don't know much about gaming so no comment on weather or not it would work for that too.

Well worth it
I got this on sale on prime day but if you can find it for sub 200$ it's a great purchase. I got this for my mom who likes to watch cooking videos on YouTube and browse the net ever so often and she loves it. It was easy to set up has a great battery and the keyboard and trackpad work great. The OS itself is very snappy and simple to understand and could work great as a secondary laptop or even for a college student to take notes on and browse the net. Good buy!

So, you think you want a nice, affordable laptop do you?
Hello there valued customer,Do you enjoy incredibly slow laptops? How often would you rather spend an hour searching for answers to your questions/issues rather than just two minutes? Would you like your laptop experience to feel similar to that of learning a new language? Love camera's that make you look like something out of Mine Craft? And let me guess, it would be a wonderful surprise to have no video recorder, am I right? If these laptop characteristics are starting to sound like something you would love then wait until I tell you the rest. Almost all the apps are incompatible with this device!!! Yes, that's right, borderline all of the ones I found totally sucked! Ask if it's too good to be true? Well, just wait, the ones that do actually work seem to totally mess up the already super slow laptop!!!I for one, after having used it for just three days, have already requested a refund. So, if you want the trouble of ordering, waiting, getting, fidgeting, trying, realizing it's just not going to work, requesting refund, packing, and sending it back then by all means, you should choose this laptop! As an expert in buying cheap, affordable, but still "gets the job done without any tears" electronics I would have to say, this is a doozy! My Stylo 2 V has a cracked screen and I still prefer it to this wonderful monstrosity. Literally is not even worth keeping until I get a new phone or a better laptop!! They have truly amazed me, never have I had such a disconcerting time with an electronic. 10/10 would recommend if you're the type of person who would go camping on a rainy day with no tent, fire, food, or anything to make you remotely comfortable... but you wanted to do something over the weekend and couldn't afford a hotel.Oh, disclaimer, um writing papers and stuff is probably okay if that's ALL YOU'RE GOING TO DO. Researching for the paper itself should be done elsewhere as it will more than likely impact the levels of "okay" on your device. Also, Children who are not born out of the womb with electronics already in their possession will probably have a good time with it. Although, I would say, I probably have the tech savvy of a small child with little to no knowledge of the more complex realms of electronics and even I hate this thing so who's to say really?

Great Chromebook
Love this! Does everything I need it to do. I wanted something simple, light weight, with a good battery life to do basic things like email, YouTube, and surf the web and this Chromebook does it very well. My only beef is that it can become a little slow when you have a lot of tabs open and trying to run YouTube, but that wasn't a giant issue for me because I can easily just close some tabs.

Good if you are the only user
If you are the only user of the Chromebook and you are looking for something simple with which to do email and web browsing, this product is perfect for you!!!However, my situation is different, which is where the rating lost stars.I bought the Chromebook for 2 reasons:1. Email/web browsing.2. HEARTHSTONE (a game that runs on PC/Mac and Android/iOS).It works wonderfully for email and web browsing. No complaints.Hearthstone takes up about 4GB of space if you freshly install it. It runs better than when I had a Linux box. And it's supported! All great news! I learned that Android has an issue with Hearthstone updates where it won't clear the previous version, so you have to reinstall each time it updates or you run out of hard drive space. So where did it lose stars?1. I was unable to add another user. My friend comes over to play Hearthstone on my computer. I could not have my account (with only the default apps, Skype, and Hearthstone installed) and create a second account with Hearthstone installed. It ran out of disk space. The OS, once you update it, takes up about 6GB. That leaves only 10GB for apps, and it installs quite a few by default that cannot be removed (~1GB) With Hearthstone being 4GB, that leaves only 5GB of hard drive space, which the second account uses to install the same default apps, and you can't fit the second installation of Hearthstone on the hard drive. I've read that a feature is coming that would allow you to install apps to an SD card, which would solve this problem. But for now, 16GB of hard drive space is surprisingly not enough.2. The default screen brightness is WAY TOO BRIGHT. This gives things a "washed out" appearance, which has been listed in other reviews. Set the brightness to 1/2 using the keyboard and you're ok again. However, there is no way to save this setting. I have to reduce the screen brightness each time I start the Chromebook.3. The keyboard takes some getting used to. There is no "delete", "home", or "end" button. There are keyboard shortcuts, but I'd have to look them up each time.4. The OS had to be updated in order to use Google Play. I had read on a couple of third party websites that this model would support Google Play out of the box, which it did not. This isn't really a problem, as updating the OS was easy and it's something you should do anyway when you get a new computer.Key positives:* 2 USB ports. I need the mouse in order to play Hearthstone (don't think it's playable with a touchpad because without the buttons, you cannot click and drag). Can use the other for a flash drive.* Nice audio. Clear sound.* Classy finish. It looks kind of like wood.* Large screen!* Access to Google Play apps (after updating the OS).* Fast boot time. Great for when your cat sits on the keyboard and hits the power button in the top right.

Overall performance especially at the cost.
It boots up quickly!! In a matter of 2-3 seconds. The quality of the screen image is excellent. The key action is light, but definite and predictable. The only irritation so far is I haven't figured out how to set up permanent caps. My other computers have a specfic key for this. I'm sure this can be done with the chrome. I just haven't figure out how yet.I went on line and found an app that lets me dial into my windows based computer remotely. I can print windows based documents like excel using my existing non chrome printer. All up, I'm very happy with the chrome, especially at the price.
