Excellent bit driver, really handy tool
Short version, buy it. It's a well made tool, functions exactly as designed. Learned a few important things from this purchase. ENGINEER® is the brand name for tools (mostly) sold by the Japanese company Engineer Inc. DR--54 as indicated, is the model number. No English, almost no French, not packaged with export in mind. Alloy (aluminum? Light, non-magnetic) body measures just under 1.5" diameter, just over 9/16" thick, red finish is nice and evenly distributed. Center drive is steel, holds any 1/4" bit on EITHER side, 25/32" long . Ratchet mechanism works in a single direction, you relocate the BIT to reverse. The printed arrow on the labeled side indicates drive direction. Magnets on each side hold the bit in place. There are approx. 45 teeth in one revolution, so pretty fine "swing". Comes with a single bit, marked PH 2, presumably a Phillips #2, an important distinction from the deceptive JIS fasteners. Overall quality is really nice. I will absolutely come back if and when this tool fails to update this review. At time of purchase, value's Japan was the least expensive seller, and delivered quickly.

Well made, but can ratchet can use some refinement.
It is very well made and quality is quite high. The magnet is fairly strong so you don't have to worry about your bits falling out. I picked this because I wanted a finger/palm driver that was low profile that was a direct 1/4in hex drive without any adapters. Where this product falls short is the refinement of the ratcheting mechanism. It works well, but the unit I have has a lot of back drag. This can give you trouble if you can't hold the fastener while you tighten or loosen it. Although I suppose if the fastener is that loose you can in theory drive it with your finger tips and then finish it off with this, but that seems very tedious and somewhat defeats the purpose of this tool. Unfortunately it's all press fit together so trying to open it might be destructive. You might be able to seep in some lube through the seams. So reducing back drag and possibly adding more teeth would make this a 5-star product

Growing on me
Engineer makes some of the most functional and innovative tools of recent memory. This little guy is perfect for torqueing screws down where clearance issues may occur, or when a great deal of force is required.

Well built, but WAY too much backdrag.
Great size, well built, BUT the backdrag on this thing is absolutely brutal. Basically has enough backdrag that it hurts to turn the bit by hand playing around with it. Works ok on a fastener, but in practice is tough to justify because of the backdrag. If you want an amazing palm ratchet for hex bits, buy the Snap on TS72 and then swap out the 1/4 drive anvil for a magnetic hex bit holder using the repair kit RKRTNFM72. It is expensive, but thank me later.

I’m constantly in need of a quick screwdriver
Working in property care means lots of little jobs with the screwdriver to tighten/repair items around the home. This item can fit snug in my pocket, and I almost forget it’s even there. The magnetic bit holder is perfect and holds the bit in tight, but allows for easy removal when complete. One side tightens and one side loosens, so it’s as easy and remembering which side to use. The grip on the hand is great and makes for good leverage given the small size. I’m so happy I purchased this!

Amazing little tool
This thing is fantastic for tight spaces. I keep it in my tool bag and use it when my screwdriver is too big. Quite a bit of torque as well due to its size.

Super handy and top quality
I immediately took it trough the test. This product feels very high-quality. The ratchet mechanism is smooth and precise. To change direction, you simply turn it around. This means it has no switch to break, and it remains compact yet easy to use.

Genial!
