Source???
I got this marine collagen because it was cheaper than the one I had been using. It calls for 2 teaspoons and I was following that dose. I developed an itchy rash, so I stopped using it and the rash disappeared. I have just started again with a half dose. I have noticed that marine collagen does improve the strength of my nails, so I expect it is a worthwhile regimen.

Comparable to much more expensive brands
These pouch containers are horrible for getting the product out and you can never be sure it completely sealed so that when the cat gets in the cabinet and knocks it out--cat's being the devious little monsters they are--that it won't spill all over. So, I poured it into a plastic canister. OMG, the smell! It was SO fishy. I thought it would taste horrible. However, to my surprise, when mixed in with homemade kefir, there was not even a trace of fishiness. Marine collagens are so much better for you than bovine. Can't tell as far as joint improvement because that takes more time than I've used this. I used another much more expensive product and this is just as good.

Clumpy and only type 1 collagen
This product does not dissolve well even in hot coffee. It clumps up and takes vigorous stirring to get it all dissolved. I only used this as my normal collagen was 2 weeks from being delivered. Won’t buy again

Works
It works well for nails. Joints ok but not a noticeable change. My hair breaks off less. It dissolves well in room temperature water when I sprinkle/spread it over the surface of the water. I open up the capsules to my other supplements and take them at the same time. Taste isn't bad, smell doesn't remain.

STRONG FISHY SMELL
I have used a different brand of marine collegen for years that has no fishy smell or taste but they were out of stock so I ordered this small bag to get me through until the brand I usually order is back in stock.I was extremely disappointedto find that this has a very strong fishy smell. It is so horrible that it made nauseous. And of course you can't return this product so this was a complete waste of money since I had to throw it in the trash.

Includes added amino acids, no odor or flavor
There are no hard and fast rules regarding collagen dosage, but a typical recommendation is anywhere from 1.2grams - 15 grams, (or 1200mg-15,000 mg) per day be taken for benefits to skin, hair, nails and joints. At 60 doses, this would be 5 grams per dose and is a substantial dose if used twice per day for 30 days. (10grams per day) I didn't taste this by itself, because I wouldn't ever drink it alone, but if there is any fishy taste or scent to this, it's completely undetectable to me when mixed into flavored smoothies and iced teas. I think the price is reasonable for a 30 day supply because this is very good quality collagen- it contains added amino acids which enhance the utilization of the collagen and it mixes thoroughly, leaving no grit or sludge. It's tasteless and Odorless mixed with beverages. This is one of the best collagen supplements I've used.

plain collagen - small dose
This is very good collagen. It has no flavor nor smell. It mixes well in coffee and it's not noticeable. This would be good to add to any number of smoothies / soups / etc. This is hydrolyzed from fish - cod / Alaska pollock / Pacific cod / salthe / haddock / pollack. There's nothing added. The amino acids are inherent in collagen. When they say 60 doses = that's 60 of 2 teaspoon (5 gram) servings. If you're used to 10 gram (or more) this is one month - (or less)My one complaint is the bag. While I do appreciate Oceancoll using less packaging =the zip lock on the bag came detracted from one side the first time used.No scoop.> I don't like bag packaging for obvious reasons of getting the productall over the hand, but this dumps nicely into a saved container.Product of Spain - fresh date May 31, 2023
