Insulin levels after eating UCAN bars?
My Continuous Glucose Monitor (not diabetic) shows my blood glucose spikes over 30 points after eating the UCAN peanut butter chocolate bars. I do not mind that if my insulin is not concomently increased. I need to view any literature that you have performed measuring insulin levels. Please escalate this request to a knowledgable scientist. Thanks Roger

This Works!!! It isn't like any other bar on the market so don't expect it to taste like a regular protein bar. I am a dance teacher and carry a bar with me everywhere I go. I am recovering from mold exposure, which can mess with your blood sugar big-time, so I am dealing with hypoglycemia. The kind that comes on slow & subtle and then I find myself feeling spacey and having a hard time thinking, losing track of time, depressed and feeling like someone else has hijacked my mind. Crankiness, paranoia, irritability, being hyper-emotional and even an over assertive personality shift occurs. It is so bizarre and I had no idea that low blood sugar could do that because I've never dealt with this before. As soon as I eat this bar I start feeling like myself again within minutes. This bar has changed my life because eating a snack or having a meal to raise my blood sugar was not working fast enough and I would still lose energy, get moody and go through the downward really negative spiral. From what I understand this was designed for a seriously ill child with blood sugar issues so it is absorbed and converted rapidly.It is basically a bar made of non-gmo cornstarch with added plant protein and they've done a good job adding the coffee flavor. It works so well and has been such a game-changer for me that flavor and texture are not that big of a deal. Just so glad it works!

Great snack for endurance athletes on Keto Diet (or any athlete looking to avoid insulin spikes & keep blood sugar stable)
Keto Review - On a Keto diet so I take in very few carbs (naturally). Superstarch is the exception since the carbs are released so slowly, there isn't the same insulin response as other carbs. I only take superstarch when I'm doing intense endurance exercise and I need/want the extra fuel (4-5 hour mountain bike rides). I can take the Superstarch powder pre-ride (with some exogenious keytones to really up the keto energy!) but these bars are great for a mid-ride snack when you're putting in big miles. Also a nice recovery food after a big ride/effort if you don't have the Generation Ucan Superstarch with protein (powder) available since the bars have a bit of protein too. I've taken Superstarch, ridden, and then tested keytones a few hours later and I'm still in keytosis which is awesome. So far, I feel this is a great fuel source for endurance athletes on the keto diet.Taste - Tastes pretty good, not great. The Superstarch items I've tried aren't as tasty as other powders & bars but that probably just means less sweeteners which I'm completely fine with.

Just okay
I gave the bar four stars because aside from the taste, I did like to have it pre/post workout and I felt like it gave me sustained energy and stabilized my blood sugar. The downside is the taste and texture. I taste no coffee whatsoever and the texture is chalky. It's not worth repurchasing.

The Coffee UCAN bars are delicious! I am a marathon runner and mother of two kids. I initially (a couple years ago) learned about fueling with UCAN from Angie and Trevor on the Marathon Training Academy podcast (MTA). After reading some reviews, complaining of the taste, I was hesitant, but decided to give it a try anyway. I must say, they're delicious! and compact enough to easily carry on a run or race. I am also pleased that these are plant based and do not contain whey. Hooray. Thank you, UCAN. These are better than I anticipated.

Tasty blood sugar stabilizer
These bars are the absolute best for stabilizing blood sugar. Plus they taste good ! My trainer gave me my first one. Coffee flavor which I usually don’t like but I was desperate. I loved it. Tried to get a whole case but they were out of coffee so I got the chocolate. I’m a dark chocolate lover but it was a bit too intense even for me. Plus they melt in the heat. I’m a fan of the coffee ones!

Good taste- great sustained energy
I did not get hungry using this product! I had a scoop of the shake with almond milk in the morning and the bar for lunch- less than 300 calories and no hunger until dinner! The texture is pretty good- and I really like the coffee flavor. I also love that they are gluten free and vegan! Can't wait to try as I pick up my running training schedule.
