Not a fan for both of us.
I got these for my girl she couldn't really get it in the right position at first so I helped her out. I was able to feel it I'm a little above average size and it caused chaffing on the tip for me and itching for her. Plus if you perform oral after inserting it has a bad taste.

Great alternative
If you can't take the pill and don't want to use condoms, the contraceptive sponge is a nice alternative. These are NOT as effective as the pill and don't protect against STDs like condoms do. However, I've used these for years and had no problems.

Oh my, what a mess
Decided to try these since I got off the "make me crazy every day" pill. Opened the package and found a Barbie sized pet bed with elastic on it. Followed the instruction, soaked it in water, squeezed, and tried to put it in. Read that if you can put a tampon in that these shouldn't be a problem. !!! This thing is twice the size of a super plus and it doesnt have a handy applicator. After it slips a few times through my fingers I finally get it where it's supposed to go.* one star because once I finished the gymnastics of getting it in I didn't feel it all. Was quite comfortable and I felt it was secure. After my romantic marathon this morning, I went to check it before I got us a snack and it had split!! I could feel my cervix and a piece on either side but couldn't quite find the elastic. After a few tries of almost standing on my head and bearing down trying to push it out I finally was able to hook the elastic with one finger and throw it out.* giving this another star because besides the insertion and removal It wasnt very messy, and my partner didn't feel it except to complain that the elastic piece kinda rubbed him the wrong way.Completely disappointed with this overall. Maybe if the man isn't real well endowed or in the mood for marathon relations it might work better.

Has advantages and disadvantages
Pros: Allows for spontaneity, good for 24 hours rather than just a single encounter, non-hormonalCons: A little messy and awkward to put in/take out, can smell if you leave it in too long, can rip in the middle if you aren't careful, spermicide can irritate your skinI have used this product several times and I still don't have any kids, so I assume that it does work. However, occasionally after use I could see a small tear right in the middle of the sponge that does not go all the way through, but there it is, and that can be a little worrisome. Luckily the Today Sponge also uses spermicide which in my case seemed to do the job. I wouldn't use this product several days in a row because my skin started to become irritated (due to the spermicide, I'd guess). Also, your partner really can't feel the sponge, or if they can it's nothing to complain about. I've never had it flip around the other way as I've read in other reviews; I think that has to do with making sure you insert and place the sponge correctly.

Worked but awkward to insert and remove.
These sponges worked for me but it was a little awkward putting it in and taking it out. I would not purchase them again. I ended up getting the mirena instead.

Do you chronically get UTIs? Then don’t get these.
I mean, I didn’t get pregnant so that’s nice. But UTI city. I should know better than to use something with spermicide. If you get UTIs easily, stay away.

My Wife didn't get pregnant
I was kinda hoping that this product kinda failed after my wife told me she is a "day late". But it turns out this product did the job but i was sad and happy at the sametime lol.
