iOgrapher Case for Apple iPad Mini Retina 2/3

The iOgrapher works as it is supposed to. I like to support entrepreneurs and start-ups as they get their feet off the ground. That's what My Tech Report.com is all about. We use iOS devices in the field to capture audio and video for publication on the website. I bought the iOgrapher to have a structure in place to hold iPad Mini and have the ability to attach lenses and extra lighting or mics if needed. The device works well and does what they claim, which isn't much, but I was surprised at the flimsy quality for a $60+ price tag. I know inventing and manufacturing physical products is not cheap. But this one is a little pricy for the construction. Although I've been using it for almost a year and it is still holding us just fine.

I only have two rubs on the iOgrapher. 1 is that the lens port is very shallow so the lens only goes in about 1 and a quarter turns. 2 is that when clipping in the iPad it can be very hard to get one part on and another may remain either unclipped or even loosely clipped. Be certain you're securing it well. Other than that it's very handy and the cold shoe mounts are nice.

Well, it feels very flimsy, but when you outfit it with the attachments it looks very professional. It's a little challenging getting the iPad out of the unit. If you remove according to directions, it feels like you're going to break it. Even with directions it's hard to get out. I can't help but think I'm going to scratch up my iPad or break the unit. I wish there was another way to remove the iPad. For the price, it works. When it's all said and done, you are ready to shoot professional video once outfitted with accessories in hot shoes.

It is small & light enough to to fit in our carry bag. The tri pod that was purchased also is set up easily. For the $$ it was a good buy.

A very promising product and its made in USA!. The concept itself is a five star. However, the ipad doesn't really sit well in the case/tray and taking it out is really difficult, so, less 1 star for that. A little twist of the case (when I take out my ipad), the lens falls off, so, another star for that. Believe me, when I used this in Las Vegas, it really made heads turn out of curiosity.

I had to youtube how to remove the iPad from the media case. This was quite tricky and required several attempts for fear of breaking the case OR the iPad. Once it is in there, it is pretty secure.

Very pleased to see that on this version, the plastic covering the iPad power button has been cut out. I purchased these after we received some free ones from HUDL, but those had the plastic covering the power button, so you had to twist that corner to partially remove the iPad each time you wanted to turn on/off.

For the price and what it does It's great. I just wish it was a little easier to get out, but I also don't want it just slipping out while filming, so I'm good.After several months, the bottom broke from the twisting your required to do to get the iPad out. Would be great if I didn't have to take the iPad out after every time I filmed.

OK, let's get this out of the way up front. This is way, way, way too expensive. Even at 1/3 of the price, this would be expensive but, at £60+ it's crazy overpriced. When I first removed it from the packaging I thought this was some sort cover for the actual product, as it looks and feels very flimsy. However, once the iPad is placed inside this the whole setup feels very sturdy. Despite the price, it is a great rig and certainly makes the iPad into a very capable video platform.If you need to mount your iPad on a tripod or mount lights/mics on the iPad, then this a very nice solution.

Very pleased to finally get one of these, I have just bought the basic case so far but it works fine with my tripod. Yes, it's just a piece of plastic but it makes video so much easier & should make Periscope achievable as well. Bought for work use, but my kids stole it and have been creating with iMovie. The only issue I have is that it's so difficult to get the case off again, and I didn't want to use my iPad just for video!

There are other more expensive options. But for the price, this works very well. Could do with an accessory to cover the screen when stored in a carrying bag.

Me ha gustado mucho la utilidad y el diseño del producto. Sin duda voy a sacarle mucho partido. Lo único que al sacar el ipad mini de la carcaza cuesta un poco y intuyo que cuando pasen los años y de tanto meterlo y sacarlo...puede que se acabe rompiendo. De todos modos me ha encantado comprarlo y estoy muy contento de la compra.

It looks a little flimsy but it does the job.
