Excellent vacuum!!
I am extremely pleased with my purchase of a refurbished SharkNinja NV680 vacuum. It arrived in 5 days, exceptionally well packaged! Looks like a new product. Easy to assemble and use and I was amazed at how much dirt and dog hair I picked up from an area rug I'd just vacuumed last week with my previous vacuum (different brand)--see pic.PROs: it pivots/swivels; clear window on top of brush roller so you see it working, plus there is an indicator light for the roller brush that shows green=good to go, red=blocked, flashing red=too hot. White LED headlights light up where you are cleaning. Excellent suction! I love the modular "lift away" design and I really like that you can separate the handle/hose either up near the grip, for a pistol grip type of connection to the attachments, or near the bottom of the handle for the use of the wand with it's extended reach. I also like that the filters are easy to get to--once you remove the dust bin, they pull right out for washing and replacing. It is also lighter than my previous vacuum and easier to maneuver. Does a GREAT job picking up the dog hair from my perpetually shedding golden retriever/yellow lab mix.CONs: Not many,. but the dust bin is smaller than what I used to have--it fills up fast. I filled it up in about 5 minutes just vacuuming a 15 x 10 area rug. But boy did it get the dog hair out though! Also, while there is easy access to the roller brush with just a coin or screwdriver, if you need to change the belt, you need to take off the entire bottom plate of the base to do so. That should be easy, but it is secured with security type screws--similar to Torx but they have a little raised pin in the middle. So you have to buy a set of security bits if you want to be able to change the belt yourself. From what I've seen in online video though, once you do that, the rest is real easy--it just slips off the spindles between motor and roller brush and you put a new one on. Not sure why they thought they needed high tech screws; simple Phillip's head screws would have been fine and a lot easier for end users to maintain. That being said, I see security bit sets for sale here on Amazon for around twenty bucks. This is still way better than my old vacuum, which required you to be equal parts surgeon and contortionist to get the belt off to replace it.SUMMARY: An excellent vacuum, and would have been so even at the regular new price. Getting a refurbished one at less than half of that makes it even nicer!

Very happy with this vacuum
I bought it b/c Consumer Reports said it was on the quieter side as far as vacuums go. I agree with them, it's not quiet but it's quiet for a vacuum. I'm very pleased with it so far, the suction is great and it works well on carpet or hardwood floors. The base isn't very wide but it maneuvers awesome and gets into hard to reach areas. It's also like a little transformer with all of the possible ways you can detach different pieces to fit your needs. The only downsides I can see are that the dirt reservoir isn't real big so you might have to empty it a couple times within a single vacuuming but its quick and easy to do so. The other would be that a retractable cord would be nice, but its not a show stopper by any means. Really pleased with this little vacuum.

AWESOME vacuum - I like it better than my 3 Dysons I have bought over the years.
I am kind of a serial vacuum cleaner buyer, so I know my vacuums. I have had 3 Dysons over the years now, and thought they were just the ultimate in vacuums. Well, guess what. They aren't.As an experiment (and because it is really disgusting outside during the winters here, so I have nothing much else to do) I vacuumed with my Dyson first. Clean filters, clean canister... Then I ran over the same places with this little Shark thingy. OMG The dusty yuck that came up was freaking amazing. It has a relatively small canister (far smaller than the Dyson) but it filled it up UP! in just my living room. I do not have indoor pets (well, one very old cat who sleeps on a couch all day, that is it) so I did not see pet hair in there, but Holy Dustballs, Batman. The ferch was amazing. That gray linty stuff, it was solid that stuff in the canister! SO, yes, this is an awesome little vacuum. It is fun to steer (yes, I need a life) and the headlight is oddly helpful. I like the on/off for the brush right there where you can flip it with your thumb as you go to laminate or whatever. The beater brush is a monster - it pulls you across the room! Onboard tools are fine, probably the best thing I can say about the non-standard uses is that the way the handle detaches instantly and lets you suck up things that are unreachable was really nice. All in all, this is an EASY 5 star vacuum/ (OH - and I was able to use it on the carpeted stairs, like a regular vacuum, but sideways. For the tfirst time, my stairs actually look cleaner since the beater brush was able to scrub on them a bit.) Just GET the thing, it is terrific! (And I did not even talk about how you can take the tank off, and get the beater brush part under your bed. You'll be sucking up socks you did not even know you owned!
