Holy Stone 4-in-1 Battery Charger and 4Pcs 3.7V 750mAh Rechargeable Li-Po RC Drone Batteries for F181C

The first unit I received was plugged into computer USB and after a short while it began smoking. The batteries were alright but I was not impressed and let them know. Customer service responded within probably 10 minutes and then sent out a replacement without even requiring me to go through the hassle of returning the old one. I received the new one in two days and it worked great.The reason I am only giving this 4 stars is because the charging cables are not user friendly in my opinion. I had a difficult time plugging in the batteries and the pins bend easily. The USB charging cable connectors that come with F181W are quite easy and reliable. The ones with this product were difficult to plug in to say the least.

**Update** The company Holy Stone reached out to me to discuss this incident. Their customer service has been excellent and are refunding me and sending me a new one. I have edited this review and gave them more stars due to their great customer service. Hopefully the new charging set will work better!Original post:Do not buy this product! It is cheaply made. The second time I used it, the thing started smoking and melting within 5 minutes! It is a terrible fire hazard and cheaply made product. It does not even deserve the 1 star I gave it. My advice is do not buy this product, purchase something better made even if it costs more!

Product worked fine initially. Plugged it in the other day and the charger was not working. Tried in different usb supplies, to no avail. Then, the cable connector in the unit failed. Actually slipped out of place. And I am very careful with things, especially when I suspect they are not very solidly built. Unfortunately this appears to be the case with this particular product. However, I am going to try another. We'll see what happens.UPDATE ... I have been very surprised with the response from Holy Stone as compared with most companies on the web. Olivia from HS has been more than helpful and gracious in responding to my concerns even as far as sending me a spare parts kit for my F181 which I have, so far, been very impressed with. It appears to be built well and has held up without a mark through a few head-ons. As for the replacement charger I ordered, it has, so far, been fine and show no tendency to have the same problems the first one had. Time will tell. But for now, I will change my rating to a 5*.

The charger works fine but all of the batteries puffed up after just six charge cycles.

I bought this set as I thought it was a good deal. I have purchased holystone products in the past and they were top notch. Sadly while the batteries seemed to be fine the charger would not work. So, I did return it. To my surprise holystone reached out to me and asked what happened and if they could help. I told them the deal. They said allow us a second chance and we will send another out for you to try. Of course I would not turn this down. Well I have to say this battery is PERFECT for the xk x250. This is what I use it in and its amazing. Now I wil have four batteries to run my quad with. Couldn't be happier with my experience with holy stone. Now I'm thinking about getting another one of their quads!!!

I'm letting my positive (4-star) review below remain, but am updating it now that I understand the situation a bit better and have had more time to use this unfortunate product. My advice would be NOT to buy this if you expect it to work for more than 4 months or so. "Oh well, just contact Holy Stone for a replacement, right?" They're rumored to be really awesome about that. I've heard so much about the supposedly great customer service of Holy Stone, but a big reason you see that is because HS heavily incentivizes customers to leave good reviews in exchange for things like free batteries. It's understandable, but not quite honest.Anyway... As mentioned below, it never worked completely. I always had problems with at least one battery. The LED indicator lights are difficult to tell whether or not the thing is charging (or working at all) even with the weird color scheme aside. Which is itself nice-enough-looking I suppose, but rather nonsensical. The biggest problem is that it just plain stopped working. Not because it was dropped, not after it was left out in the sun or something (I actually made a place for it in the cushion-foam inside my drone carrying case), just out of the blue stopped charging the batteries. The batteries just will NOT charge with this anymore. Sometimes the charging indicator lights come on, sometimes they don't, it seems pretty random. Regardless, the batteries don't charge. Even after leaving them on longer than the suggested time to charge - remember, you have to time it with a clock or guess as to how long to leave the batteries plugged into the charger since the indicator lights are useless. As a last ditch effort, after I knew the thing was already toast, I figured I'd just plug a battery in overnight and see if it was charged the next day. Nope. As dead as when it came out of my drone.I told all of this to Holy Stone in an email, and they weren't impolite or anything, but first of all, asked me to send them a video to prove I wasn't lying, and then made sure to remind me if I've had the thing for more than 3 months, even if it is broken - oh well, it's past the warranty. First of all, they want a video? How long? Of what exactly? The thing sitting there and not working? Whatever. I'd have done it, as silly and inconvenient as it seemed, but it had been more like 5 months since I purchased it. (It was very lightly used, by the way, I charged 4 batteries simultaneously, which you're supposed to do with this charger, but I only charged them about once every 3 weeks). To me, this looks like a pretty clear case of "make it super cheap so it lasts just long enough to get it past the warranty, then when it goes bad, the customer will just have to buy another!" This is not the kind of business practice I was expecting from a company with such rave reviews regarding customer service in particular. But hey, I DID get a free battery for writing a review of the actual drone. Sigh.===original review===Good if you want some quality drone time without having to stop and recharge within 10 minutes of use.===Because of the short battery life of drones in general, and especially ones that aren't at the high end of the price range, lots of extra batteries are a necessity if you want to spend a decent amount of time playing with / using your drone. This product worked quite well for me, except with ONE battery, I had the same issue others are describing... it stays in the "red" charging mode no matter how long you leave it on. The battery still seems to work when you put it in the drone and so far it seems like it has roughly the same life as all the other batteries, but the charger doesn't recognize when that battery in particular is charged. The others turn off the red indicator light when they're charged. (And yes, I know it's a specific battery, not a specific port on the charger.) I would say it was worth it. Even though it's a pain swapping out batteries every 5 minutes, at least with this and the two batteries that come with the drone, you've got a good half hour or more of actually flying it around, with frequent battery-swap breaks of course making your drone excursion a little longer still.

I bought this for my Holy Stone F181W Drone and couldn't be happier. I've used it for just over a week now without any issues. It charges all 4 batteries (it comes with) at the same time in about an hour. What a great product. Works best with a USB charger 5.0V - 2.0A. Also comes with additional adapters for other Drone type battery connections. I like the fact each port has its own charge light indicator letting you know when its done charging individually. Comes with easy to read instructions. Can't go wrong adding these extra batteries for extended flight time.

Extra batteries work perfect with my drone. Makes things a lot more fun with extra batteries. They last about 10 minutes each with the drone running high speed.

Great batteries at a good price. Allows my son extra time playing. Very good fit for his quad copter
