Great welder for the price!
The welder arrived in perfect condition and I was up and welding in no time. Very happy with the welding results so far both on steel and aluminum. Great welder for the price. The only issue is that this welder does come with the hose and regulator for the argon tank, which is no where in the description nor the pictures, so I wound up buying both as extra items. Since I did not open either, I will return them.

Don't
I've been wanting a tig for a while but was squeamish with the price tag for Miller/Lincoln. On the other hand I was also hesitant to fork a good chunk of change over for a less than adequate welder. But, Eastwood has a good reputation so I thought maybe it will be ok.When the unit arrived I plugged it in and it did not power on, D.O.A. just what I was most afraid of. The return process is agonizingly slow and I chose a full refund, because why should I even risk it again. I got my money back plus the shipping thankfully and I used it to purchase a Lincoln squarewave Tig 200.How can you rely on something that may or may not work when it comes, and even if it does work, for how long? So I really can't give a positive review for this unit. All I can say is bite the Bullitt once and save for the Lincoln.Best of luck.

Other than the fact that the item arrived just a few days I placed the order, I don't have much to say. I'm not a welder and I don't know anything about this field. I bought the item for my nephew, who lives in another country. I shipped it to him only last 11/20. According to the individual who picked it up at my place, it will arrived to my nephew's address around 2/10-15/15. it would only be then before I will know if the item works satisfactorily according to its purpose.

Hobbiest Review
I bought this unit directly from Eastwood, so I am not a "confirmed purchaser"... trust me or don't... no skin off my back.I have never TIG welded before, but I wanted to learn. I wasn't about to lay down big bucks for the American welders... (Miller, Lincoln). So I was looking at the Chinese welders... there is no question that this is made in China and Eastwood doesn't hide the fact either. I have restored cars before and have delt with Eastwood in the past... Their 3 year warranty is what sold me on going with the Eastwood machine. So let's get onto the review.I did alot of research online on how to tig weld... check youtube there are tons of videos. So I finally got a bottle of argon and a piece of metal to start on. The unit fired, but I could not melt the steel (1/16" plate). I figured I did something wrong and kept trying, still no melt. I then switched it from pedal to panel and it worked fine. So the pedal was bad from the start. I took it apart, put the ohm meter to it and one of the pots was bad. I sent Eastwood an email explaining the situation and that I thought the pedal was bad. Before I heard back from them, the pedal started working... I think there might have been oxidation on the pot or something and by playing with it, it started working. When they finally got back to me, I explained it was working and to just make a note in case it fails later.Regardless, they sent me another pedal, no charge. Yes, I lost a week or so, but I am a hobbyist and it was January in New Hampshire and I wasn't about to go out to the unheated barn anyhow. So the machine... now that I have a handle on it, it works fine.I wish it did have some other features like adjustable frequency and pulse mode.If you take one thing away from this review... If you are going to buy a Chinese welder, buy it from Eastwood, because they stand behind it with the 3 year warranty. It's not their only product and they aren't going out of business because their welder line took them out. I don't trust the other companies that just popped into the market to be around in a couple of years.Pro Tip: The torch is a standard WP-17, which is good, you can buy your consumables from e-bay at a considerable savings than buying them from Eastwood.

This is my second eastwood welder. The first one crashed after 10-25 hours work. They did exchange it but unlike other people, they had to have it in house before shipping another. Witch put me behind another 3 weeks. Now the second one is doing the same thing thing, right in the middle of another progect. Guess we wil see if the customer service is the same. Now I will be behind again. Buy some thing local I guess so I can at least get it serviced or get parts. Bob Hachett

meets expectations and more
Easy to use, reasonable price and easy to understand instructions have led to my rating. I am a novice with regard to welding so these conditions are very important now, just as they were when I evaluated the market before making my purchase. So far I could'nt be more pleased.

Don't let the low price fool you!
Very nice machine, comes with everything except a gas bottle and filler rod. A/C is very smooth and welds aluminum very nicely(10 years of TIG welding experience). Ran beads on exhaust tubing with little effort. Could not be happier with this welder!
