Blood Rage: Mystics of Midgard Expansion

This adds an interesting aspect to the game in the form of new units that have a potential to have cumulative abilities. I will never play without it. It is for me now part if the base game, which was already awesome.

I bought these, along with the God's of asgard. They are worth it just for expansion of the game but they are also good figures to paint. I really wanted to paint the gnome as papa smurf but I ended up just painting it normally.

The second best expansion. 5th player is the best. Mystics of Midgard creates some alternate routes to victory and has more options added into the game. New figures, etc. If you find the same strategy is being repeated in your play-throughs in the base game, get this.

The mystics expansion makes the draft more interesting and there are more strategic choices to be made. If you like or love Blood Rage it's essential!

Great expansion for this game. Love it and the purchase was easy.

Not sure why there are so many positive reviews claiming that this a major improvement to the base game. It adds a new unit to the game for each player, but the unit is relatively weak AND you don't get it for free, you have to use an upgrade like getting a Monster. Plus, they took away the feature where you get a free invade like you get with Monsters. The mystics are strength 2. During each "Age" you can upgrade to a new power. However, compared to many of the Monsters they just aren't that impressive. In the end, I will continue to include the Mystics when we play Blood Rage, but I would not have bought this expansion if I had tried it first. It just doesn't add much to the game.

This brings a great new addition for the game. Will not play without it.

Para mi grupo de juego esta es la segunda mejor expansión que hay para Blood Rage, siendo la expansión del quinto jugador la mejor, esto debido a que es una expansión muy sencilla de usar ya que prácticamente sólo agrega dos unidades adicionales disponibles para cada jugador incluso para un quinto jugador si se tiene la expansión correspondiente. Esta expansión agrega 2 cartas de mejoras de clan (místicos) en cada era que los jugadores pueden usar. Cada carta te deja agregar un místico (hasta un máximo de 2 místicos por jugador) en tu reserva de unidades para poder usar en los turnos siguientes. También proporcionan una habilidad especial a cada místico que tengas y lo mejor es que cada mejora diferente de místico se acumula a las habilidades que ya tenía el místico, siendo posible hacer tus místicos una de las figuras más poderosas del tablero. En conclusión lo que agrega esta expansión es una nueva unidad que puede convertirse en una unidad temible para los demás y que te permita ganar puntos de victoria de manera más fácil a través vencer en las batallas y controlar ciertos territorios. Con esta expansión se agrega un poco más de variabilidad a las cartas que hay en cada era, aumentando aún más la cantidad de diferentes escenarios posibles para cada partida. El precio me parece bueno para lo que incluye. Lo compré a $300 con Amazon Estados Unidos y consta de 10 miniaturas, 10 bases para las figuras (2 de cada color de jugador), 1 instructivo en inglés y 11 cartas en inglés: 6 de mejoras de clan y 5 de referencia de los místicos que son para cada jugador. Al ser la versión multilenguaje (modelo BLR304) en realidad cuenta con 5 intructivos, 30 cartas de mejora y 25 cartas de referencia adicionales que en realidad son copias de las que en realidad son necesarias para jugar pero en otros 5 idiomas: español, italiano, polaco, alemán y francés. Como siempre con Cool Mini or Not, las miniaturas son de una calidad excepcional y excelentes para los amantes de pintar las miniaturas de sus juegos de mesa.

Considering this is nearing 40% of the price of the full game, with maybe 10% of the intent, it is very disappointing. That said the 3 out of 5 stars is for the content which itself is good.

Excellent expansion for Blood rage, brings a fun, new element to the game!
