A lot of work, but worth it
This was my first instrument build. It was more work than I expected, but I did manage to get it together and it sounds great. The Okoume body is really light wood, but it takes a stain nicely. It doesn't come with instructions, YouTube how to build a P bass, it was plenty of information and tips.I managed to get the action pretty low and even along the fretboard, but not without some work. The neck had to be removed several times and an aluminum foil shim used to set it straight, with careful adjustments each time, and the neck needed about a half turn on the truss rod to straighten it. It plays really nice, I double checked the intonation by playing the bass with Rocksmith and it's solid all along the fretboard. All in all, I feel like I got a bass that's worth more than $160. My only complaint is it neckdives, the neck is nice and heavy maple and with the light body it just wants to fall all the time.
