Ion - Pathfinder 280 All-Weather Speaker with Wide-Angle Sound

My wife lugs this thing into the bathroom and locks the door while in the tub. Its loud enough that we all then have to listen the the 90's cliche bands base line though the door, floor walls ect until the bottle of wine or the water heater has been emptied, whichever comes first. We live outside of town and you can hear this at our neighbors house about a 1/2 mile away. pretty good. It also uses the same squared computer cable that every printer, computer, xbox, most TV's and electrical products use. Nothing proprietary here, It works great daily for 6 months. We also left it outside, brought it to the lake, camping. remodeling, construction. Its probably better than the other one you are thinking about buying. I dont always give good reviews, but when I do, its worthy.

First off, I bought a used one last year around Christmas and loved it so much that I bought a new one this year. The battery actually works now lol and the sound is so much better and clearer.I also wanted to say, I saw the negative comments on this item, to anyone reading this if you buy using the battery will likely be dead, but everything else worked great. Sure there was some wear and tear on it but you're buying it used.Both were a great buy for the price new or used.

The addition of side speakers to the ION 280 was a great idea. There is plenty of bass and the phone app lets you customize your listening experience too.I was a bit bummed however, because I spent over $200.00 for this speaker and found it at Costco for $100.00 cheaper literally two weeks after receiving mine.Just my luck 😆. This is a nice sounding speaker and the cabinet lights are a great addition too.The battery life is fantastic, we live on a lake and entertain friends often. We have had this unit on 1/2 max volume for 15 hours straight and there were no signs of battery issues. Also, very quick to recharge after long periods of use.This charges phones very rapidly when in use.It’s loud, not only will you enjoy some AC/DC.... you’re friends three doors down will too! 🤟😎.Over all, very happy with the purchase.

I ordered this speaker new on account of the mixed reviews for refurbished ones. I purchased the speaker for $239. The refurbished is currently listed at $139.I received the speaker and noticed some minor cosmetic defects. At the bottom of the box was an Amazon Renewed insert explaining this was actually refurbished.The speaker works great and does everything as promised. Nice sound, good volume and bass.I contacted Amazon support and let them know they sent me a refurbished product when I purchased a new one. I advised that the speaker was fine and requested a simple refund of the price difference. The agent told me this was impossible, but if I reboxed and shipped it back to Amazon they could issue a refund and I could order again.I pointed out how absurd this was but continued to make no headway. I spoke to a supervisor who offered me a 20% refund and then finally $80 (still short of the actual price difference). We settled for $90.TL;DR: Amazon made an error sending me a refurbished speaker when I ordered a new one and expected me to either eat the ~$100 difference or pack up a giant box, ship it back, and the order a new speaker AGAIN with the same possible outcome. After way too much negotiating for such a simple task, I spent $8 for Amazon’s screwup.Speaker’s great. Just know if you get the wrong thing, and you certainly can, Amazon does NO favors to correct its mistake.
