Q: What color is this item? I’m trying to select the purple but can’t find a color select option even thought this product is shown in several colors

The color is purple. I believe that it is the only color it comes in.

Q: Will cosmetics fit in this bag? Pencils, brushes, lipsticks, etc?

The pockets inside the cover and bottom are each 81/2 inches wide. There are 4 sleeves. 2 are split in half and 2 will give you the full width of 8 1/2 inches. Depending on the length of brushes , mascara wands the organizer would hold cosemetics.

Q: The sections that are fanned out in the photo: are they fastened into the case, or loose?

They are attached. They are one-sided with clear vinyl on the zipper side and quilted on the back side. There are 9” pockets on the front and back covers and 4 73/4” pockets attached inside. Great case

Q: There are two different greens. Three of the pictures show a medium to dark green and in another picture the green is much lighter. Which is it?

It's more of a medium green. I asked our staff and they described it as a pea green. It depends on what you are comparing it to. They are a little darker that what is shown on the yazzii web site. Mill House Quilts.
