8 pc T6 T5 Opener Screwdriver Tool Kit

I would LOVE to give this a MINUS number review but unfortunately the lowest you can go is 1 star. The one I got looked like it was in good condition but the little blue plastic pry things chip off the moment you try to use them for the intended purpose. Mine didn't look like it shows here, it has only 3 screwdrivers NONE of which will work on the screws in the Garmin Nuvi 1490 LMT (I'm trying to replace the Lithium Ion Battery pack in mine which still works but won't hold a charge) and there was an extra "guitar pick" looking thing, that seems pretty useless. In short, it's a good thing that this was an add on that cost less than $3.00 so as they say in Latin Caveat Emptor (Let the Buyer Beware), you get what you pay for based on price in this case....a piece of worthless junk! Maybe another such item on Amazon similar to this MAY work better, but this one doesn't and looking at the repair kits for the Garmin, it should have as it looks on screen pretty much like the rest of them. Maybe they used inferior plastic in the manufacturing process, I say steer clear and try elsewhere other than this particular seller of this item!

The shipping was super fast, and they provided USPS tracking. They also sent me a 2nd kit, probably by accident. I just bought a new "LG Sunset" and transferred my number from my old phone "LG Power". My friend's glass was badly shattered on his "LG Power". Since my old "LG Power" was worn out, locked to Tracfone, and deactivated, I decided to take mine apart and give him the glass and frame section. I got stuck at the point where I needed a plastic tool, that is when I ordered this inexpensive set. Using the instructions (with photos) at ifixit.com I was able to replace the glass on my friends phone with mine. They have detailed guides to replace specific parts with photos from whatever phone you need help with. I ended up giving him the back plate as well as he had damaged it from dropping. Buying this set for $1.35 with free shipping was a no brainer, and got the job done!

Generic GEN10219 Cross Opener Screwdriver Tool Kit, 8-Piece Don't waste your money on this!These are some of the poorest quality tools I have ever used, even for two bucks! The only reason I purchased it was because I needed the T-5 screwdriver to open the GPS I was replacing the battery in. When I tried to remove the two T-5 screws, the shaft just spun in the handle and I had to use a pair of pliers to grasp it to break the tiny screws loose. I tried using the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the circuit board, and had the same problem. Once I had removed the T-5 screws, I tried using the larger pry stick to gently separate the plastic case of the GPS, and the tip broke off on the first use.I'm a firm believer in 'You get what you pay for', and I figured I only needed it for a one time use, but this time it came back to bite me in the butt anyway!.

I ordered this tool set to replace a Garmin Nuvi battery. It came quickly, and was packaged well. The screw/torx drivers are "OK", but the plastic pry tools are very poor. The one came with the end bent, (not the built in bend) which eventually broke. The othert plastic piece was also made with inferrior plastic, so it broke on the first piece of the garmin I had to remove.Because of the poor plastic used in the production of these tools, I can't recommend purchasing this set at ANY price.At the same time, I purchased a Scanditech battery for my iPhone 6, and it came with it's own tool kit that was much superior... however it had one of the same poor quality "blue" tools of this set, which I'm NOT looking forward to using. Fortunately, the other Scanditech plastic tools are made of a much better plastic.See attached photo to see the "blue" plastic tools... the one from Generic on top (broken tip) vs. the new one from Scanditech bottom.

I needed a kit to repair my Samsung Galaxy S2 because the screen cracked, and I was very excited that I found this set. I got started with unscrewing the screws on the phone and I noticed that the screwdriver was stripping the screw heads. I managed to remove the back housing with the phillips that came with this kit. Then I attempted to pry the back housing off the front housing using the supplied plastic prying tab. The tab came damaged as if it was already used, and by the time I was done with the tab it's all bent and chipped. Only good for one time use, pos. The other two plastic prying tools held up enough for me to get the job done, but just like the plastic tab they're chipped too.When I removed the back housing, I had to remove two very small black screws from the mobo. I first used the phillips that came with this set, and it stripped the screw completely. Then I attempted to remove the screws with some needlenose pliers, but that didn't even work, so I went to the local CVS and bought the screwdriver used to repair eyewear. I felt it was still too wide for the screw, so I held onto it just in case and went to Home Depot and bought a set of precision screwdrivers that are made of better quality than the ones that came with this pos kit. It had exactly the right size screwdriver heads I needed to get the job done. I didn't need the screwdriver I bought from CVS afterall.When I got home, I still had a tough time unscrewing the screws because they were so damaged due to the one in this kit, but some effort I managed to get the two screws removed. Save yourself an experience like the one I had here and STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS KIT!!

The set was very inexpensive. For me, the most useful part was the mini torx screwdrivers which I did not already own. The plastic tools bent too easily when I was trying to pry open my GPS. The thing that looks like a guitar pick was way softer than a real guitar pick and didn't do a great job as an opening tool. The mini Philips screwdriver was also made of a soft metal that was semi-destroyed after removing two tight screws.

The philip screw driver is too large for the Garmin Nuvi 255 screws. I had to obtain another screw driver for the job. The rest of the tools worked fine in opening the GPS.
